Hey everyone.  Smiley Kim and I just wanted to remind everyone that all posts made on the board (except those in a humourous context, or ones which neccessitate a brief 'yes' or 'no' reply, like on the 'era person' thread) should as much as possible contribute to the discussion; that is to say, there's no point in making a posts that's a re-hash of one of your earlier posts, nor is it a valid contribution to repeat something someone else said, with slightly different wording. Also, a summary of previous posts isn't the same as a legitimate contribution.

Thanks!!

Hello. I am a new member so forgive me if I am breaking any rules. I just noticed your discussions about Lady Jane Grey and her sisters on the web and thought your members mights be interested to know that Harper Press are publishing my triple biography of the three sisters on September 1st in the UK (my full name is Leanda de Lisle). Ballentine will publish it (perhaps slightly different - not sure at this stage) in the US next year. It demolishes many old myths about Jane Grey and uses unpublished and previously lost manuscripts to tell the lives of Katherine and Mary Grey. I notice that somebody (although this was ages ago) was saying they are particularly interested in Mary - well, she is my favorite of the sisters, although politically she was the least significant! She as quite a character. The UK book (available on pre-order from Amazon uk) is called The Sisters Who Would be Queen; The tragedy of Katherine, Mary & Lady Jane Grey. Slightly odd order for the sisters, but the publishers came up with that, and by that stage I was just happy to go with the flow! I also notice the interest in the Romanovs on the site. Just as a matter of curiosity my middle name is Xenia. I was named after the Grand Duchess, sister of Nicholas II, who was my godmother (or so I am told): bizarrely as I was born only weeks before she died. My parents were friends of her grandson, Alexander, and remain friends with his widow, Mimi.  I have some photos of Xenia in court costume, and some of her in old age in England. best wishes to all Tudor fans, Leanda
