I believe she's closest to the Queen - and I think she was OK with Margaret - Princess M wasn't the easiest to get along with... She's good friends with Camilla though.

Dieu defend le droit.

She's very elegant. Are those jewels belonging to her mother?

No the jewels are the Princess's own.
The necklace (based on Queen Victorias jubilee necklace but minus the small diamond crown was a wedding present from her husband (it can also be worn with turqouise replacing the pearls) Likewise the tiara (which was a reworking of a earlier smaller floral circlet) can be worn with the pearls replace by sapphires or turqoises.
The earrings may have been part of the gems Alexandra inherited from her mother and originally came from Grand Duchess Vladimir.

She has a very melancholic gaze.
And when he shall die, // Take him and cut him out in little starres, // And he will make the Face of heaven so fine, // That all the world will be in Love with night, // And pay no worship to the Garish Sun.

Aww, thank you very much for these information ashdean! Those  pieces of jewelry are really amazing because they can be vaied in designs by replacing the gems in them with another...

Princess Alexandra walked almost a mile through the ranks of policemen from across the county when she visited Kent Police headquarters in Maidstone in 1957. She had been due to tour the ranks in a car, but insisted on walking.

Except for the hair, her face looks not unlike Diana's in this photograph although I realise they were not related.
