The spam problem is now back to intolerable.  We are now getting over 250 spam registrations per DAY.  Virtually all come from gmail, hotmail or aol email addresses.  I can not spend the literally hours per day trying to sort out who is legitimate and who is spam. SPAM registrations are NOT PERMITTED.

The process is now this: REGISTER here, then you must send me a separate and detailed email, at Rob@pallasweb.com with the user name you registered and at least some basic information to allow me to know you are a genuine user and not a spammer. I will not approve any registration which is not followed by a separate email to me at Rob@pallasweb.com. All registrations which do not email me to tell me you are real will be deleted after one week.

I'm very sorry we now have to go through this, but the amount of spamming from China, Russia and Eastern Europe is overwhelming us.  I have had 1150 spam registrations in just the last week!  I hope you understand, and appreciate your cooperation.

A few general guidelines you should know:

We no longer permit any discussion of Survivors of the Ekaterinburg murders as anything other than the history of such claims being false.  There is no longer any scientific question on the subject and as we are a historical discussion site, not a fantasy site, nobody may discuss anyone actually having "survived" .  You may question the testing procedures, but not the results.

We allow the generic discussion of re-incarnation, however NOBODY WILL BE PERMITTED TO CLAIM THEY ARE THE REINCARNATION OF A ROMANOV OR OTHER ROYAL.  TAKE THAT NONSENSE ELSEWHERE.

We require civility and courtesy at all times. You may disagree with someone, but you must respect them as individuals.  NO FLAMING, NO SLANDER AND NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. Forum Moderators have my full authority and are to be respected and obeyed at all time.

Otherwise, we welcome you here to learn, share and have fun.

I too want to thank you Rob and Bob.....its good to feel safe while here!

I just had to change my email address to get rid of about 150 spammers and jumk mail a day that could not be got rid of any other way.....it was awful the trash being sent out.

An update to the modification I made above.

We do NOT permit advertising or spam of any kind.  This includes links to ebay or auctions, and selling of any kind.  We do make exceptions for unusual circumstances, so should you want to link to an auction of Imperial Russian items, contact me FIRST.

NO SELLING in the Forum. PERIOD.

I hope those e-bay sellers can't avail AP forum's connection forever. Wink

Thank you for the beautiful, safe website! I was able to learn so much about books I had no idea even existed.  I am acquiring those books slowly and savoring them, going back to golden times long forgotten by so many, but not we here!The site and everyone in it share my passion for this incredible history, and I discover such a wealth of true tenderness and love for the incomparable Romanovs.

I posted this on another thread, but it bears repeating here, to all those thinking about registering to participate in the Forum:

While this Forum is free to the public to READ, which in fact Bob insists upon so that anyone interested may freely share in the knowledge and information here, the simple FACT remains that the privilege of being an active registered user/poster/participant is not something just anybody has any "right" to have.  This Forum is Bob's personal property. In fact, it is not even hosted on his company, Pallasart's, servers.  While we welcome all genuine users, those who threaten, disrupt, conspire, attack, disparage, libel, attack, spam, harass, "flame", slander, libel, disrespect others and disregard our rules are NEVER welcome here and we are under no obligation to allow them access to this private space, nor to tolerate their behavior once here.

I have said it before and is worth repeating:  Registering to use the forum is akin to asking Bob to come into his private home. Users must respect this place and Bob, me, all the Mods and all other users and our Rules just AS IF a guest in his residence. Period. If you don't, you simply are not welcomed to participate.  Notice Bob's generosity however, that NO ONE is ever prevented from reading the Forum, to freely and without restraint access the information we provide.

To all who have not yet registered, and wish to do so, PLEASE understand the following:

There is now a growing number of actual individuals who register, real people who can read the captcha security screen and then post spam links to pornography, this is happening about once a week.  I will not divulge the "signature" of these evil vile persons, but they always use a hotmail, gmail or yahoo email account. IF you use one of the email accounts to register, there is an increased probability of having your initial registration rejected, for security purposes. This is not personal, we hope you understand.  Just send me a private email, so I know you aren't a spammer, re register after I respond to you and you will be approved.

I'm sorry that a few awful people make the process more difficult for users, but we simply must protect the integrity of the Forum and the schoolchildren who come here to learn and participate.

I am now swamped with some 25 plus registrations per day from India and the Phillipines and elsewhere who are trying to register to post links to boost Google placement for their clients.

YOUR REGISTRATION WILL BE REJECTED. Please understand you are not welcomed here. I don't want that stuff clogging up our forum. DO NOT BOTHER TO REGISTER if you are these type of people.

A side consequence of this is that users with gmail or yahoo or hotmail accounts have a great likelihood of being rejected as well. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience. IF you live in these countries and want to register, Please just email me directly and I will allow you to re register.
