Behind the Veil at the Russian Court by Paul Vasili
« on: February 12, 2007, 05:48:44 PM »
 :)

Before I order this apparently new book from Amazon -- has anyone here read it?  I apologize if there is a thread somewhere on this, but I was unable to locate it.

I can't tell very much from the Amazon site about the book itself -- anyone??   ???

Thank you!
Janet R.

Sorry!!   :P :-[

Too late to edit my post I'm afraid... :-[

Apparently this book is by "Count Paul Vasili" and was originally written in 1914!!  It is a new, paperback version of this book that Amazon is offering.

I would still like to know if any of you have read this book in full??

I believe this book was actually written by Princess Catherine Radziwill in 1914.  I don't think it's reliable at all, if I recall.

You are correct RichC. It was written by Radziwill.

I have the old edition, it is interesting to read, despite the gossipy tone.

Hi

I have an original copy, it's great fun.  Not to be relied upon at all though.

Count Paul Vasili, (aka as Princess Catherine Radziwill) is a thoroughly unreliable author.  In her many books Princess Radziwill, always the heroine a-la-Daisy Ple▀, took great freedomg and liberties with reality.  Enjoyable reading no doubt, but not to be taken as truth.
