Queen Victoria's Funeral Procession--at the very end you can see Edward VII, Kaiser Wilhelm and other royals:

Not yet. I just happened to come across that today. I know there's a good amount out there though.

I posted some links to Russian ones on the Imperial Family thread:

There is a wonderful film of the 1896 coronation.

Thank you so much for the links to that film footage -- it is really amazing!  The quality of the clip of Queen Victoria's funeral is excellent -- much better than most films of that era!

What a great contribution!

Mahalo!

 :)

Maybe someone with better eyes to "spot" the royals can identify some folks for me?  I recognized King Edward of course following the coffin, but I'm afraid I didn't "recognize" anyone else.   ::)

Anybody?

Thanks!

On television this evening they played a very fuzzy recording of Queen Victoria's voice. It was heard to discern but she is apparently sending her greetings to India!

What does she sound like? I always imagined her having a high pitched slightly nasal voice...

She was supposed to have a beautiful voice!

Eddieboy, do you know of anywhere we could possibly hear this?

Exactly Helen! It was very hard to hear, I put the volume up full, her voice did sound very high pitched and rather similar to QEII's.

That's very true Grace! ;) The actress Ellen Terry thought Queen Victoria’s voice was “like a stream flowing over golden stones” I dont know where you would beable to hear it... :-\

I was suprised to hear them play it, as I understood it that no recordings had survived.

I did a bit of googling and found this info:

Thank you, Eddie!  I've come all over in goosebumps just at the thought of actually hearing her voice!

For some reason it doesn't work for me  :(. When I try to play it, I get a message that says "it doesn't seem to be working, try again later".

Thanks anyway, Eddie!
