Yes, it was. I wasn't sure until now, since I didn't have the Haakon and Maud bios with me. The picture was in the book in connection to the year 1905 when Haakon was elected king of Norway and Serge was assassinated.

I don't know, I think the picture came from Maud's (or maybe Victoria's) private album which of course is in Oslo.

I don't know either, but the book says the picture was taken after the coronation of Nicholas II, when Maud along with others stayed with Serge and Ella at Ilinskoe.

Oh my, it's been ages since I've tried to post a photo.  I hope this works.  I nice gorup with Tsar Alexander, Marie Feodorovna, Sergei and Ella.  I will not attempt to identify the others because I will get the names wrong.  One of the Tsar's brothers in the back row?
