photos of Imperial Family's rooms in Ipateiv House
« on: December 12, 2005, 04:49:31 PM »
I've discovered a website that has some photos of the different rooms inside the Ipatiev House.

There're also photos outside the Ipatiev House and a short black and white film of people passing the house.

http://www.romanov-memorial.com/inside.htm

Please bear with me if this topic has already been discussed. This is my first time creating a new topic, but I've been around for 2 years. I joined April 6, 2004 and come here almost dayly to view the topics. I hardly post.

Due to a somewhat lack in social skills, time varies, but it sometimes takes me hours to find the right words to say. Everytime I post, a great fear of being criticized overcomes me. This isn't an attack on anyone because nothing bad has happened, but I just felt I had to express myself.

You have said nothing wrong, SS2045,  but unfortunately I cannot open the link you provided. It would be nice to see if there are pictures we have not yet seen.
[btw- I am now after the Kansas quarter !]

Yes, I also have the same problem.   :(
Although, I have seen pictures of the IF's rooms in the Ipatiev House.
Sorry, I can't post them due to my disease of NOT SAVING PICS BUT INSTEAD COPYING AND PASTING THEM IN COLLAGES!!! :-[ ::)
One of my outbursts.

Wonderful site Romanov Memorial is. The creator of this site is a casual poster here, who has posted many many rare and facinating pictures of the Ipatiev House.
I tried to fix the link Does it work?

If not, check out Romanov Memorial

Thanks for posting Super Stud  ;)

Hello All

Thank you Laura for your comments :-)

Yes, warning before putting a link to my pages because it is hosted on Unix server then case is important   :'(

Then, the good URL is

http://www.romanov-memorial.com/Inside.htm

About the little movie, it run only on IE. Instead trying reading it, I suggest you to download it first and read it with a quicktime player.

Bernard - your site is a wonderful one.  I've been going to it for years.  What do you have in store for the future?  Have you given any thought to setting up a section related to the current physical site of the ipiatiev house - perhaps providing detailed information on the church that sits where the Ipatiev house used to?  As I understand it there is suppose to be a replica of the cellar room built into the crypt of the church?  Anyway - its a great site.  Thank you for providing it.

best,
dca

Hi Dominic, tank you for your comment about Romanov-Memorial ! To reply to yours questions, I have, for the moment, not very precise ideas of new chapter for romanov-memorial.com.

I am thinking to a russian release but because I don't speak russian, I can't achieve it without help. I would like also to improve the 3D model of Ipatiev House because the first ne is old and since the time I did it I discovered new photo (on AP board for example :-) ) giving me more precise ideas of some elements of the house. Of course I hope one day I could make the travel to Iekaterinburg to provide personal photo of the site.

I invite you to visit the map page of my site where I list all changes and update I make on Romanov-Memorial.Com (http://www.romanov-memorial.com/Map.htm#Bottom)

About the replica of Cellar Room. Did you read in in FOTR like me ? I don't know if it exist and the only one I known is virtual ;-)

Best regards
Bernard T

The cathedral built on the site of the Ipatiev House has a chapel built on the precise footprint of the murder room.   Steps rise to a very simple chapel with cream-coloured walls which contains nothing more than an alter of dark red Ural stone.   At the apex of the vaulted ceiling is a painting of an Imperial crown.

No photography is allowed in the crypt and at the time of my visit there were no images of the interior on sale.

What a great page! I have a quick question though. I always thought that they claimed to have tried to burn 2 bodies but you say:

During the night, at about half past four, Yurovsky and his men brought the bodies out from the pit mine and tried to burn some of them (Those of the Czar, Alexei, Aleksandra and Botkin).

So had they in fact tried to destroy 4? Possibly mistaking one of the daughers for Aleksandra and that's why Anastasia/Maria is missing?
