Title: Russian cultural blog featuring my Romanov art
Post by: blessOTMA on December 05, 2011, 01:01:11 AM
Well you can imagine the thrill it gives me. This blog often has posts related to the Romanovs

Helen Azar kindly translated the text for me. Thank you Helen !

I want to dedicate this material to my reader in the United States, Philadelphia. She is an artist who paints portraits from Romanov photos and makes amazing videos about the life of the last imperial family. Annie Lloyd and I only communicate through the comments on this blog, and in English for that matter, and it's such a shame that no one here in Russia sees her work. I keep being amazed by the love that people have for the Romanovs outside of Russia! While we are still trying to understand what happened in 1917, and in general, how this great nation lived the entire 300 years under the rule of this imperial dynasty.

Annie's interest in the Romanovs emerged 40 years ago, but only very recently did she decide to make the drawings based on their photos, and create her videos. She fell in love with the Romanovs: "the more I get to know them the more I admire them", writes Annie in her blog. Will we ever admire the imperial family? Will we ever be able to evaluate their lives objectively? Probably not, things are different in Russia... although maybe in the year of 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, 2013, we will be able to look at their lives from a different angle.

Thank you both! It's a thrill to have my work so well liked, they would post it and it's seen there... The blog owner asks if the Russian people will admire the Romanovs? ...well it seems to me each week brings news  from Russia of an another exhibit, renovation plans, or statues pertaining to the family ... so I'd say the process is on going
