I just found on youtube a video by a man named Chris Butler called "Execution of the Romanov Family: The Guns Used/Collections and History Corner" where he discusses the weapons used to kill the IF and an account of their murder. It could do with some "polish" you might say. It is of some interest and use to some people on this site

I think it's like anything else, really -- these people are "gun people" and we are "Romanov people." (Not saying someone can't fit both categories, just that all media is geared to an audience, and special interest non-fiction media even more so.) This guy seems to be a "gun guy" who has read a few Romanov books. I get it -- I'm a "Romanov person" who knows a bit about guns.
Ultimately, he's funny, and mostly accurate. Obviously, I disagree with the premise that Nicholas was "Bloody" and deserved execution of any kind -- and the Maria and the guard myth is a mess, of course. But it's a channel about historic firearms, showing a lecture given to a firearms collectors' club (not a lecture given specifically TO be filmed), and the whole thing is geared toward people who study and collect such antiques.
The nitty-gritty gun stuff that's informative to a Romanov buff who's read all the usual books, etc, starts around the 19 minute mark.
