The most that I have ever done is enhancements and converting greys to sepia tones!!
Once, I tried coloring a portrait of aleksey using my painting program on my computer, but it came out like he had an afro!!!!LOL :-[

Nerdycool, I was referring to Mandie's link. I did click on it and I did go to the website, but I could see no pictures, even when I clicked on the album link. There was a blank spot, then free online albums hotsed by freeweb. There were no pictures.

And I just don't see myself mustering the patience to conquer the software -- I only managed to color one hat before giving up. ::)

You should really try again, we all had problems when we began coloring, I tried and failed for hours before finally finding something on google that explained step by step how to color basic black and white photos! And that encouraged me to keep on trying and I still am and enjoy it very much! ;D

..practice makes perfect, believe me..just fiddle around with all the tools in the paintbrush section and you'll get there in time.. ;)

I think the best investment for coloring photos (besides photo editing software) is an optic mouse. The roller ball mice, for me anyway, makes a huge mess. The optics make intricate work easier.

Both pics are pretty much the same, except for the color of her jacket and cap. Couldn't decide which was better, so I posted both. They started out red, but the colors of dress and undersleeve (?) didn't look good with red, so I switched. Then I played around with the background color on the blue one. That looks good, too.
