In the 14 Dec 2018 issue of the Wall Street journal there is an article about making Putin Tsar!?

He already is a de facto Tsar.

I saw a clip of him striding down the corridors of the Kremlin, with band music playing and servants opening doors for him as he approached.   I could easily see a Tsar getting the exact same reception.

The only difference is that the Tsar was, to most Russians, a mysterious and distant figure.  However, television and the Internet allows Putin to reach the people, no matter where they are.

As to the initial question...Never...alas...

And a statement of King Albert II:

Nice to see them all getting together after so many years.

The King set an example for his cowardice father to follow.
A most admirable gesture by King Filip.

Still out and about and very much loved and respected!

Last week she joined TM & their girls and son Prince Constantine and his family for wintersports in Lech am Arlberg,Austria.

The annual wintersport in Lech is an over 60 year tradition of the Dutch RF,and starts with the photoshoot. An agreement
of the Dutch RF and the Press...to take pics for an halve hour after which the RF will be left in peace for the remainder of the holiday there, and that works well, very well, they are entitled to some privacy during a vacation. But they go all over town there as well so you might run into one of them or all of them in the town of Lech,be it in the supermarket or,shops or restaurants they favour.
The bond the Orange Nassau's and Lech is strong.

BeNeLux Royalty / Books on Dutch Royals
« on: October 30, 2016, 04:37:31 AM »

A new book,by Jolande Withuis,a rather unknown author..and individual..,a biographie on Queen Juliana as it is called, was published this week.
By a "scientist" as the cover says...Giving the impression that it must be wellwrought and that the author must have had access to the Royal Archives...Not true!!...

Besides the old ad nauseam stuff of the hofmans affaire en the Lockheed affair...of which one wonders what it adds to the biographie except that it fills pages. It also goes quasi in dept on the relationship between Juliana and Bernhard. So much so that much of it is simply suggestion, way besides the thruth. It caused HRH Princess Irene,2nd daughter of Juliana and Bernhard to express that she is deeply hurt by the concoction that is called a book and the allegations, and just that,on the family's life at Soestdijk Palace, stated without one simple fact. The Princess didn't want to say what her sisters and other family members thought of it and wished to keep her comment to her own opinion.

As the exhibition comes to an end,it is clear that most if not all exhibitions after the Grand opening are a little to largely disappointing.Much of the same,or disappointingly little of real interest...if one knows what's all in store at the Hermitage St.P that is....But OK,I give it another chance with the exhibition on Tsar Nikolai II next year..
