The Hohenzollern / Re: The Hesse-Cassel family

Does anyone have pictures or portraits of Princess Marie of Hesse-Cassel, daughter of Landgrave Frederick of Hesse-Kassel, and his wife, Princess Caroline of Nassau-Usingen who married Grand Duke George of Mecklenburg-Strelitz? I've been looking for something of her and I haven't been able to find anything.  :-[ Thank you! :)

It is very sad.

One of the victims was a step-brother to Crown Princess Mette-Marit. He was a guard on the island.

This might be kinda off-topic since we're posting photographs of Dagmar, but does anyone perhaps know where Dagmar and her family spent their summers? I'm talking about prior-marriage to AIII, so it'll be in Denmark. If anyone knows, you'd be of great help!

Dagmar and her family usually spent their summers at their summer home, Bernstorff Palace outside Copenhagen, and Rumpenheim Palace in Hesse, Germany. Hope this helps.

Where did you get these photos from, Kmerov? Are they from a book or a magazine?

They are all from various Swedish and Danish books about Victoria and also generel Swedish Bernadotte royalty.

Queen Margit II. looks weird with her cap.

Is she related to Bernadotte?

Yes she is. Queen Margrethes mother, Queen Ingrid was a Bernadotte and so was her great grandmother, Lovisa of Sweden.

Jean Baptiste Bernadotte was elected Crown Prince 200 years ago, and he travelled to Sweden via Denmark.

There are much better books out there then the Tisdall book. Tisdall wrote the bio many years ago when there was very little access to archives and such, so much of his book is based on rumours and wrong information. For instance Tisdall writes at lenght about MF visiting Russia after she got engaged to GD Nicholas Alexandrovich, but the visit never happend.
As Svetabel wrote, more fiction at times than actual schorlary, but a nice book.

I think Olga is in a Greek dress in this picture, eventhough it was taken in Saint Petersburg.

From Christian X's 25 jubilee on the throne in 1937.

My guess.
First Row, Haakon VII of Norway, Queen Alexandrine, Christian X and Gustav V of Sweden.
Second row, Prince Carl of Sweden, Crown Princess Ingrid, Crown Prince Frederik (IX), and Princess Ingeborg.
Third row, Prince Valdemar, Grand Duchess Alexandra of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Grand Duke Friedrich Franz IV of M-S, Princess Caroline Mathilde, Prince Knud.
Fourth row, Princess Helena, Prince Harald, not sure too blurry, Prince George of Greece, and Prince Gustav.
Fifth row, ?, Princess Margareta, Prince Axel, ?, Princess Margrethe and Prince René of Bourbon-Parma.
In the small room. In the front Princess Aage, Count Christian of Rosenborg, ?,?.
The back row includes Prince and Princess Viggo, and the two sons of Axel and Margareta.
