I don't think the second pic is NII.........I think it is Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich son..

Thank you Helen and Thomas. I was also looking at the hair length of both Elizabeth and Tatiana. There is a picture of Elizabeth riding a donkey and her hair was thick and long.

I disagree....the child is Grand Duchess Tatiana. If you look at the entire album, it is Tatiana

I don't think AN the girl on the far left corner. If you look at the skirt and where she's standing ( like a spectator) doesn't fit AN. The 2 youngest must not have been part of the ceremony. Just my thought. But I do thank you guys for sharing :)

Anyone knows if Victoria Melita ever mentioned her first daughter again? It seems like VM just completely eradicated her first daughters memory in her life. Of course I am not an expert so I could be wrong.

That's a good theory BlessOTMA. Also, knowing the Empress's frugality, she might have sent a maid to a discount store?

However, I thought the imperial children's schooling is budgeted, I don't seem to recall at the moment.

Need to go to the homepage of AP to double-check.  :)

Sarushka, that sketch is new to me. The sketch is of Petrov and his hands are clasped together and his arms resting on a table. I can see 1916 as the year but can't decipher TN's notation. But somehow, I think it is Petrov's handwriting than TN's because it seems neater than usual.

Because of your review Ashanti, I will surely buy this book.
Thank you

From what I can recall the GD's are standing by the wheel house of the Standart

Thank you for the replies. Learning to read Russian is a Herculean task for me let alone understanding TN's handwriting  :) ;)

Apparently the GD's lessons are similar to their Aunt Olga in which they are allowed to draw during lessons.

Thank you Sunny for the reply. It's amazing to know that the GD's notebooks were storebought and not custom made.  :)

"Anastasia's Album" book page 26 shows a sketch made by GD Tatiana of her Russian teacher Petrov. There is a dedication on the sketch but it is in Russian.

It would be great if someone can translate the dedication and also was the dedication was by the GD or was it Petrov's notation?

Thank you,
Condecontessa

I was looking into my "Anastasia's Album" book and saw a picture of GD Anastasia's schoolbook.

Can anyone translate the label on her schoolbook?

It is on page 26.

I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,
