The Final Chapter / Crime of the Century
« on: June 01, 2023, 10:29:36 PM »
for anyone interested , there is a new investigative book available which was released in about 2020 called " The Crime of the Century " , in Russian only , over 500pages long , which
in my opinion is the new Definitive Standard of the final time of the Romanovs. Contains much technical information and previous unseen photos.
Also has the best quality Sokolov dossier photos I've ever seen - the 'missing' dossiers and original photos must be back in Russia now...........worth checking out.

The Final Chapter / Help req'd to Identify men in photo
« on: June 13, 2013, 02:47:50 AM »
I need some help to identify the men in this photo , I know Peter Ermakov is far right at front row but not the rest.
It was evidently taken at Porosenkov-log in 1918 . The man on far left looks out of place ??
I am assuming they are the Urals Regional Cheka committee.......?

The Final Chapter / Yurovsky questions
« on: March 24, 2013, 06:39:36 AM »
I have a few questions about Yurovsky.

1. Some books mention that on the final night he told Botkin that they were going to take a photo of the family when they went downstairs and for the family to prepare etc. Other accounts make no mention of this.
The middle of the night seems a strange time for photos ??? Is this just a myth ?

2. If Yurovsky didn't take any photos at all , how was he to prove to his bosses Lenin / Sverdlov that the "deed was done" ? I think he sent them a telegram yes ? Did they just trust him enough to assume he told them the truth ?
Wouldn't they want more concrete proof ?

3. Does anyone think there were photos taken at Yetkaturinburg which have not surfaced publically , but are kept secretly in Kremlin archives. I would think that if they exist , it would probably be embarrassing for past or present russian
governments to release them ?

Regards

The Final Chapter / Question on Family Album
« on: March 06, 2013, 12:16:40 AM »
I have a question for the experts here :

There are 2 photos - No.1 & No.3 in Album 3 of the Beinecke collection at Yale. These are often called " Captivity Photos " - showing Tsarina in wheelchair & family in garden at AP.
Why are these photos in this album if the 6 albums were supposedly given to a "close friend" by the Tsarina before any 'captivity' or house arrest ???

Maybe I've missed something here ??

see     http://beinecke.library.yale.edu/collections/highlights/romanov-family-albums

Thanks in Advance

The Final Chapter / Sokolov box
« on: March 06, 2013, 12:04:22 AM »
I have a question : The "Sokolov Box" contents were hidden in a RO church for quite some years , then "re-discovered" recently . Was it ever examined scientifically or have the RO church refused ?
I cannot seem to find the answer.
