Mediatized Noble Families / Princes zu Windisch-Grätz
« on: October 25, 2006, 04:22:09 AM »
OK, I think that the Windisch Gratz are Mediatized Noble Family, right?

Hugo Alfred Adolf Philipp Fst zu Windisch-Grätz was married firstly to Luise, Dss of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and after her death, he married Pss Matylda Radziwill.

I've read that he died in the Schloß Haasberg on 26 Nov 1904.
Schloß Haasberg is in Slovenia near Postojna. Unfortunatly this once beautiful palace is in ruin.

If I am not mistaken, Mariano-Hugo Fst zu Windisch-Grätz was interested in restitution of this castle back to his family. But, don't know if he still want the castle back.

Archduke Johann Baptist of Austria

Anna Plochl, his wife

I think that there is not yet a tread on the counts of Meran, I couldn't find it. If there is I apologise!

I've started with the founder of this family branche, Archduke Johann and his morganatic wife Anna Plochl.

Mediatized Noble Families / Stolberg-Rossla
« on: May 30, 2006, 08:16:50 AM »
Hello!

Youngest sister of Kaiser Wilhelm's second wife Hermine, Princess Ida, was married into the Stolberg-Rossla Princely family. She was married to the 3.Fürst zu Stolberg-Rossla, Christoph Martin. They had four children, two daughters and two sons.
The youngest son, Johann Martin became the 4.Fürst zu Stolberg-Rossla. He was married to Hildegard Sauerbier, but they apparently didn't have any children. Who succeeded as 5th Fürst zu Stolberg-Rossla? Or this Princely family was annexed into some other branch of Stolberg family.
Thanks in advance.

The Wittlesbachs / Duke Albrecht of Bavaria
« on: November 18, 2005, 07:38:11 AM »
Can someone tell more about Duke Albrecht?

I know that his parents were CP Rupprecht of Bavaria and CP Marie Gabrielle of Bavaria and that of four siblings, only he survived; and that he was married firstly to Maria Johanna Draskovich de Trakostjan and had four children with her (twins Gabrielle and Charlotte, and two sons Franz and Max Emmanuel) and secondly to Maria Keglevich de Buzin. And that he was also the second time a widower.

But can someone tell how involved was in public life in Bavaria, what did he do (if he did) to promote his family (not to restore a monarchy...) in Bavaria, Germany?

Thanks,

Daniela

The Habsburgs / Archduke Ferdinand, Karl-Ludwig's son
« on: September 26, 2005, 06:19:20 AM »
I would like to know more about Archduke Ferdinand, third son of Archduke Karl Ludwig and his second wife Archduchess Maria Annunziata. I know that he married morganaticaly and that he used the surname Burg, and that he didn't have any children.
But, how did he get along with his father, his brother Franz Ferdinand? Did they maintained contact after his marriage to Bertha Czuber?

Thanks

Daniela
