Romanov and Imperial Russia Links / My Romanov Site
« on: January 12, 2005, 05:29:03 PM »
I am working on a site about the Romanovs. Something to fill up the time, you know.  ;)I'll post it as soon as possible, but if anyone has any suggesions, I'm open to them (this is kinda a plea for help here!). I'm doing a page for each of the family members, and some other things as well. It's one of the free geocities websites, so it's not fancy or anything.

I was just wondering what people thought the imperial family would have done if they had, or some of them had, survived July 16/17. (Esp. the children.)

The Stuarts of Scotland / Rizzio- Crippled?

Was Rizzio crippled? I have read that some people believe he was, while others think he wasn't. Anyone know?

Imperial Claimants Post Here / Just a Thought on Claimants
« on: January 07, 2005, 09:52:45 PM »
Okay, first off have any claimants EVER posted here? I mean, why WOULD they, you're mostly all rude and would just make fun of them. Having imperial claimants post here would be interesting, if they were ever taken seriously, or at least respected. This is so sad. This is mainly an adult forum, yet I don't know how many times people's views have been put down and laughed at! How many valuble members have we lost from these boards because of immature comments and lack of an open mind? I don't think anyone has ever been convinced that they aren't royalty by people not taking them seriously. You've just made their "cause" stronger. But I know if I were a claimant, I would try to stay away from that subject on these boards. Not everybody's crazy, you know.

Tsarevich Alexei Nicholaievich / Favorite Pic of Alexei
« on: January 07, 2005, 04:08:06 PM »
Well, I looked, and Alexei doesn't have this thread yet, so I said, what the hay? I can't find my favorite picture of him online. It's the last one of him, in bed in the Impatiev house. I also like the one of the whole family, and Anastasia is next to him, and they're holding hands. So sweet! This one:

The Stuarts of Scotland / Interesting facts about Marie Stuart
« on: January 05, 2005, 10:07:06 PM »
I really don't know why I say that, but it's great to have a Stuart board! I've always been interested in Mary Queen of Scots and her story. This is exceptionally odd! Anyone read Oueen's Own Fool?

Tsarevich Alexei Nicholaievich / Alexis's last letter
« on: December 23, 2004, 11:58:23 AM »
Does anyone know anything about such a letter? I was flipping through 'The Last Tsar' by Edvard Radzinsky, and I came across a picture of a letter attached to a book, with the caption "The last letter written by Alexei before his death." I haven't been able to find anything about it, though.

The Myth and Legends of Survivors / "Grabbing at Straws"
« on: December 18, 2004, 11:21:47 AM »
It seems impossible to come to any good conclusions about the fate of the Romanov family, whether anyone at all survived, partly because so much time has passed, and partly because  of the lies that could have been created to keep the Tsar and his family off of the throne for good. I feel like I'm grabbing at straws whenever I come upon any conclusion, and partly wonder if I just want to live in Lala land, thinking that some of the IF could have survived. All I know, it seems, is that this could have happened, that there is a possibility...Why are so many entranced by the tragic story of the Last Tsar of Russia? Is there some kind of hope in humanity by believeing that they weren't cruelly murdered, some dillusional belief that everything turned out all right? Not trying to dash anyones opinions, but I'm trying to logically think this out. Who can we trust to tell the true story? I don't think we can trust anyone who claimed to be a survivor 100%, because so much has been published about the Romanovs, anyone can pretend to be one of the missing children, and there are so many crazy, depressed, psychotic people out there, it isn't unreasonable to disregard such claims. Until I see the truth with my own eyes, DNA test, scour the "burial site", squash all survivor claims, and am content with my conclusions (which will most likely never happen) I'm just grabbing at straws along with everyone else. Thoughts? ;)
