Their World and Culture / Prayers (grace) before meals in Orthodox culture

In all that I've read about the Romanovs and how much prayer was a part of their daily lives, I've never come across any mention of them offering a prayer of thanksgiving before meals, even during the holidays.   Is this not common in the Orthodox faith?

Nicholas II / Expllanation of line in NII diary

In Nicholas' diary entry for March 16, 1917 he refers to the abdication of GD Michael - His manifesto ends with a four-tail formula (Universal, direct, equal and secret suffrage.  Can someone explain to me what this line means.   Thanks.
