Hi....I am American....from Chicago, Illinois - USA!   My grandparents on both sides came over here from Hungary (the old Austro Hungarian Empire!) before World War I.   Great to know there are at least two other Romanov/royalty fans in  Chicago....Hi to fellow Chicagoans ....moon_tsarina and green_day_addict!!!

The article on the gold was interesting.   But the article on Rasputin's "thing" - there actually was a picture.  Now, how was it preserved until put in the museum, who had it and why was it taken from his body???  Maybe this should be a new subject.

Thanks Helen for asking Bob the question that I was too afraid to ask.   That is what I thought too - but my imagination was beginning to get carried away with the prehistoric birth control idea.

Bob, That is very interesting about N & A practicing birth control.  Is it mentioned anywhere what type? And why - in your opinion - would they not have tried again for a healthy boy?

I tried a Google search under "Romanov Prophecy"  - they did not have a description, but it was listed as "fiction".

It seems to me to belong to the family - however it would be nice to see it go to the restoring and upkeep of the palaces as museums and archives.

Where did you find out the date of the little brothers birth???  Was he named and where was he buried???  Would the archived hold such information???  Sorry for all the questions - but this is the first I have heard of a stillborn son.  How different life would have been for little Elizabeth if he had lived - she would have had a playmate and someone else to share her short childhood with.

Maybe it was that performance of "Swan Lake" that she hated - perhaps the orchestra was not very good.  I thought N & A went to the opening of the "Nutcracker" in 1894??  I have not read that she disliked it.

Well that was totally misunderstood!!  I MEANT the energies remaining in the Palace, etc - NOT to try to contact the dead!!

Where did you find the picture of Queen Victoria with her arm around little Elizabeth?  That is so touching - I would love to see that.  Are there any pictures of little Elizabeth with Alexandra?  What was Alexandra's relationship with little Elizabeth like?

Absolutely - without a doubt - it's NICKY - Nicholas II.
My friends are convinced that the reason I am not married is that I have not found a man like Nicky!  Perhaps they are right!

What a great idea - to take a clairavoyant to the AP - that would be interesting.

Bob - Please put me on the pre-list for the book as well (if there is such a thing!).

Helen - Some would also say that some people have the gift of clairaudience - that is they are able to "hear dead people".  some would call it an over active imagination.   Another thought is that we leave our energy on objects, rooms, clothes (especially) and those that are sensitive can pick up on those vibes.  A group of parapsychology students came through one of the house museums I have worked at.  They knew nothing of the house or its history.  The rooms they found activity in were rooms that have something emotional happen in them.  The only exception was the area we use for collection storage - but again the clothing, etc would hold the energies from the past.
