Greeting to you all ! I was scanning the weeks t.v. schedule and noticed of couple of programs that may be interesting. The I.D. Network "Royal Inquest" series is presenting a program concerning the forensic science examination of the remains of the Romanovs. It is set to broadcast Friday May 15th at 7.pm Pacific Time in the US. It looks like it will be repeated several times throughout the week. Also, on Ovation Network is a biography of bass Feodor Chaliapin and his influence on opera. I'm not a big opera fan ;D but these are interesting to me that takes place during N&A time period. It is on Friday May 15th at 7am Pacific time and also is repeated throughout the week. Cheers !!

Robert, The Kaiser episode may have been Torchwood. If you are a fan of Dr. Who you should check out Torchwood on the BBC...a very cool spinoff of Dr. Who.

Joanna, Iam new to this site and don't post often but the links to the sites of the old Imperial Station and the Tsarskoe environs are fantastic! It causes a lump in my throat to see these beautiful historic buildings in such condition. It may be just the time of day that some of the photograpy it is almost magical/mystical. Thanks for this.

The Putilov works employed 12,000 in manufacture of industrial machinery and railway locomotives. In the Northern Caucasus, Baku Oil was a major entity.
Imperial Russia was a founding member of the Olympic Games movement and took 3 medals at the 1908 London Olympics  8)

FA, was not my intention to name just the American companies :) I was looking at an article today  by David W. Mcfadden "Alternate Paths Soviets and America 1917-1920" about the struggle of the U.S. companies to prevent being nationalized by the Bolsheviks.That is why I just mentioned the Americans. ;) also, I think that Nicholas II reign deserves some credit to modernize Russia. It just my opinion that all progress was nota result of the revolution and founding of the Soviet State.

Sorry, I made an error with post. When reading Sophie Buhoeveden "The Life and Tragedy of Alexandra Feodorova" I see that letters signed by Alix P.Q. #III were written to Margaret Hardcastle Jackson (Madgie) and not to Mrs. Orchard(Orchie) Thanks, Helen for directing to correct info.

Helen, Thank-You ! You marvelous ! This has been bothering me for ages. How sweet and and endearing. Isn't "poppet" or "puppet" still used in Britain as an affectionate name for a child?

When as Empress, AF would sign her letters to Mrs. Mary Anne Orchard, her former governess, as " Your Old P.Q. # III " What does this mean?
