Thank you for your attention

By the way, also King Manuel II  of Portugal had no offspring with his wife, Queen Augusta Victoria...does anyone know something about this?

Yes the descendents of Dona Isabel de Bragança, Imperial Princess of Brazil, were indeed intitled Princes of Orléans and Bragança, Royal Highness, after an agreement made with the Head of the French Royal House (Orléans), but that agreement does not affect the titles given by the Brazilian Imperial Constitution...So every dynast is a Prince of Brazil, addition they are also Ps of O-B, Royal Highness...This way, a dynast is His/Her (Royal) Highness X/Y de Orleans e Bragança, Prince(ss) of Brazil, Prince(ss) of Orléans and Bragança...Only the Head of the House and his/her heir would be styled Imperial Highness, they use the style Imperial and Royal Highness...but apparently many times this style is accorded informally to all Orléans-Braganças even non dynasts...

If there would be a restauration my guess would be in the form of a Kingdom, but family members would probably keep the title of Imperial Highness as a memory of their past...
but of course the chances are the lowest...

Philippe of France, Duke of Anjou, was designated heir of Spain on his great-uncle's will of Oct 2nd, 1700. The King would die Nov 1st, 1700. The proclamation of the new King (Felipe V) was made on Nov 16th 1700. Then the war would begin...

But I can't find the dates on when the former heir of Spain (Prince Joseph Ferdinand Leopold of Bavaria, b. 28 Oct 1692, d. 6 Feb 1699) was designated Carlos II's successor...Can anyone help me?

He is frequently referred as Prince of Asturias, but was he really so?

I already liked very much King Juan Carlos...but HURRAY for him, he was the only one to be courageous enough to say to Dictator Chávez of Venezuela what most of the summit members had on their minds...Boooooooo for Chávez...Shame on you, get back to your 'revolutionary' sewer... >:(

The part of having no experience of living in a not quite are forgetting Portugal's close fact the recent history of Spain is well known of the Portuguese...and there is a general belief the Monarchy has done good to Spain....

I might seem utopic for being here defending the possibility of a restauration in Portugal...the changes are diminute, but they exist...but maybe there is no one bright enough to fight for leadership...

My opinion is that the republic has done a good work on bringing about all the negative sides and prejudices against the monarchy...there is a general lack of importance given to the is as if it almost didn´t exist...the presidency is given importance almost only by those directly interested, politics and some republicans of course...the presidents are very nice people whom always get reelected...but they bring no closer the different parts of the country...and believe me some people are only aware of it because when the elections are closer the mass media speak of nothing else...

the current president has shown a little more relevance, because being of a different party from the PM people are always trying to find critics in his statements...but sometimes it's much focused on the news the trip of the Princes of Asturias to Mallorca (imagine they're not even Portuguese) than some visit the president has done...

Indeed the 16 years that followed the exile of King Manuel II were a complete disaster to the country...but oh no they don´t tell that on the official history books...not even that the country got dived in two when the King was restaured (though briefly) in the North of the is like this 'the Kings were very bad, then the good ones (Republicans) expelled the King in a popular and glorious revolution...and that's the end of it'..

Yes Hilda aka Maria Pia has quite a sad history...if at one time she claimed to be the King's daughter and the only representant of the Portuguese Royal dynasty, and that way the tradition and laws, she quite easily overcome 800 years of history by conceeding the succession rights to an obscure italian nobleman, whith no relation whatsoever to the Portuguese Royal Family...

Indeed the republic is very solid, but not popular...of course it is very unlikely to happen...
