To honor the Tsesarevich, the best we can all do here is ignore the late Tammet's proxy assertions, for it is publicity Mr Kendrick seeks. :-X

Even if that was Mr Kendrick's only motive (and I don't know how you can so dogmatically assert that it is), that would be no fair reason to dismiss all his research and well-founded conclusions.

Thanks; that's a good thread.

Yes, it looks like that. The first picture of AA that I posted on thius thread show really full lips.

Another two similar photographs. The one on the left is apparently AA, though I have not seen it before. The other is GD Anastasia. I reckon it's probably the black & white that gives any similarity they have. Similar mouth, perhaps, but the eyes (AN's are rather concealed) are very different. Whoever it was that said in this thread that AA changed a great deal in her appearance over the years is right. This photograph hardly looks like AA.

OK, I know it's the tsarevich ::) but what is the name of the other man? (His tutor, by the look of it.)

Living presently in Scotland, but am English.

Okay, I see. Didn't know Mary of Scots had anything to do with it. I'm going off topic anyways... ahem, the tsarevich's haemophilia.

EDIT: Or lack of it - how could I forget that bit?!

You mean that King George's illness was caused by inter-marrying?

They were supposed to have been good friends in their earlier years, corresponding apparently under the names "chicken" and "hen". Was it Rasputin's influence or was it unfriendliness on the part of the Empress that spoilt the relationship?...Or what else?

In the UK it'll be no more than £500 apparently, and as little as £180. In the US it is thousands of dollars.

That's an interesting page with some 'good' photos of AA. Still I think she doesn't resemble AN at all. ::)

There's even a pic of AA where she remotely resembles my voice teacher! lol ::)

Now that sums up my general view on the subject, lol!

Very well done! :)

But I think there's other pics of AA that are much better to compare that Xenia pic with than the one that was posted of AA.

Could you post them? I'd be interested to see a better match. As I said, I can't find the photo I wanted to of GD Xenia on the web.

How rude of XA to be alive ::)....but the age thing might have been a problem too...for some people....

Lol; sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, they say. But at least it is wit. ;)

Indeed - good point. It would have been less easy for AA to claim to be someone who was actually living in England at the time. :P I'm sure you'll enjoy "Once A Grand Duchess"; I'm halfway through and am finding it very interesting. Not the best written of books, but informative for someone who knows very little about GD Xenia, like myself!
