Yes , good point.......I have found out that ....... {translation not clear} either :- "The photo came from Paul Kulikovsky" or "The dress {in the photo} came from Paul Kulikovsky" , I assume the Paul Kulikovsky mentioned is GD Olga.Alex's grandson ???.....someone else probably knows better..

Yes , that is why I wrote {supposedly} , I didn't think the information sent with the photo was correct.

I'm not sure which exhibition it was , there were a few in different cities during year 2013 , I will try to find out from my contact.

Many new items & photos have *emerged* in the last year.........

Its all in the wording - Yes it was only 1 day to demolish the building with wrecking crane , but 3 days total of operation - including erect temporary barrier fence , demolish building , remove debris to dump and remove fence and clear site. Both statements are correct depending on perspective of listener and language.......   :)

The Final Chapter / Re: Public Opinion Immediately After Execution
« on: January 21, 2014, 12:07:47 AM »
The local people in Ekaterinburg knew about it the next day ( due to loose lips and drunk participants ) . It would have been very difficult to keep it quiet due to human nature. The rumour would have spread across Russia pretty quick even if Moscow hadn't made an official announcement of the execution of "Nicholas the Bloody"....There were British spies and a British consul in the town who would have heard very quickly & relayed the info via diplomatic channels to George in London.
As to public opinion :- Those who had monarchist or orthodox 'leanings' would have been sadened at the news , whilst anyone with Bolshevik,Menchevik,Anachist,Socialist ,communist , non-religious "leanings" probably cheered.....

The Final Chapter / Re: Photos of Documents

 :)

This year the 400th anniversary , there was a few exhibitions , I wish I was able to attend and see myself firsthand , but only have received photoshots. It seems everything is on display nowadays except Sokolovs original handwriting notes and the interviews he conducted with witnesses.... ( I don't know where they are ? ) . There are some other documents still in GARF and other archives which have never been allowed public viewing - I think maybe some maybe still embarassing to Russian govt even today ??? I personally think there are/were docs that prove the original command came from Lenin &/or Sverdlov which are either still locked away or destroyed....

I'd like to see the identity cards of the family which were issued when they were at Tobolsk ( location unknown ) and any photos taken at Ipatiev ( rumoured to exist but never appeared - perhaps still in GARF and not released ?? )

Regards

Is this not all just 'speculation' ?
How would anybody know who was or wasn't carrying concealed jewels ? From Yurovsky's words ? I would think ALL the females did.........
