Hy,
since I didn't know where to ask this, I've started this new topic.
I've just read this book, written by Furstin Andrea von Sayn Wittgenstain, nee Andrea Johanna Bondorfer. She is married to a Furst Karl Heinz Richard von Sayn Wittgenstain, nee Karl Heinz Richard Boswirth. He was adopted by a Furst Lothar von Sayn Wittgenstain. Now, in this book they are descriped like a very nice people. But, who are they realy? Did Furst Lothar realy adopted Karl Heinz just like that, or is something else behind.

Thanks,
Daniela

Yes Prinz Wilhelm died at approximately 4 am, while his daughter-in-law Princess Louise was in the last stages of her illness, she had lapsed in to unconsciousness on the 2nd of April.

What illness she had?

This tread is inactive for a year, but for some time I'm looking for some new info on this family. There are a lots of great photos and info about Marie, her parents, her husband and sons. But not a lot about her daughters, princess Luise and Elisabeth. Can some of you tell something about them. All I know is that Luise was born in Neuwied on 24 Oct 1880 and died in Castle Monrepos nr Wied on 29 Aug 1965; Elisabeth being born in Neuwied on 28 Jan 1883 and died in Monrepos nr Neuwied on 14 Nov 1938.

Thanks,  Daniela

Thanks, Svetabel! :)

I know nothing about the Rayevskye family, that is why I asked.
Were they wealthy? Where are they from, which part of Russia?

Is it possible that on the picture of the wedding of Louis & Victoire Nemours, is there also Victoire's mother?

The Hohenzollern / Re: The House of Hannover, past and present
« on: December 12, 2006, 04:22:05 AM »
yes, what would be the good books on the House of Hannover?

also, why were the Hannoverian kings relocated to London? why did they not administer the two kingdoms from Hannover? sheer size of nation?

thanks!

Well, probably because at the time the big European nations quarreled about who would be the right successor to the British throne and George I and his advisors, felt it would be better if he would be crowned in Great Britain and also lived there.
