Welcome to the forum!

Carol was educated as a Prussian officer, very strict. He took his duty as a king very seriously and left little room for anything else. He made a "problem" out of the smallest thing, always thinking of the political consequences. This was beneficial for the country but not for his family life. Carmen Sylva had a very romantic nature, so different from her husband.

There are very interesting portraits of them in Queen Marie's [or Missy] book "The Story of my Life".

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the information and for the photos. They are great!

Hello!

ilyala, you've posted that
''towards the end of his reign he became a more tolerable person, less rigid. he even started to gett along with his wife''
Didn't he get along with her. How was their relationship?
I was always wandering why they didn't have more children after their little princess died. Can someone tell more, please?

Hello!

I have just realized that Paul Demidoff was father of Aurore, who was married to Prince Arsen Karagorgevich. Aurore was eldest daughter from Paul's second marriage to Princess Trubetskoi. I'll try to post a link where is Aurore's photo.
