THanks! I've only seen the first version of the pic. I'm happy you also posted the black and white version of the one you've colorized. There, Anastasia's leg is very distinct.

Thanks for the Happy Advent wish!

I liked a lot your colorizations, and the last one is great...In it, you did Anastasia's legs noticiable! I've never been able to see them in this pic before you colorized it.

I never, but NEVER purchase items at Ebay. People saids that some of them are really genuine, but there are so many unescrupulous sellers there that I don't feel sure of buying photos offered in this website.

Olga Nicholaievna / Re: Cut Off OR Pinned Up?

The hair must lost its "childish" aspect, so it was styled and then, pined up. At least, it was what I've read.

Nicholas II / Re: Nicholas having a heart attack?
« on: November 25, 2011, 10:14:11 PM »
I think he could have suffered from panic  attack, or very heavy stress. A friend of mine suffered a panic attack and he called ambulance believing he was suffering from a heart attack. He would feel a very sharp and stron pain in his chest. The doctor found out he was suffering from panic attack, caused by his stress. He told him this kind of pain was common in hard stress situations. Later, I did research in internet and it was true.

Considering the bitter reality Nicholas must have to cope with, I think it is not so rare that he could have suffered from stress and/or panic attack.

Alexandra Feodorovna / Re: Alexandra and Rasputin

Exactly, Tim. She arrived to the throne right away her father-in-law's death and it was not easy for her. It's sad, but even after so many years, Alix still is misunderstood by people...And even if there are a lot of essais and all sort of books studying the Empress background and behavior, the common knowledge about her life still is baed in the quotation of all the gossip and repeated legends that were spread about her by her ennemies... :(

Well, she didn't look "old"; she looks as if she was sleeping and not very mucyh awake yet! And of course, her hair is not combed, so she looks  more tired than she could be. It's very similar to the one in which she appears with Anastasia and Maria in Crimea, early in the morning...

Where is it written that she was a vegetarian?  That is a new one for me.

I don't think she was a vegetarian...Where did you read it? What I've read is that she was not too interested in food and just would ate what they put in front of her. The Tsar liked classical and folkloric Russian dishes as Kasha, but Alix didn't care about meals.

I think I've read she liked to have breakfast with tea. She liked very strong tea. I don't remember if I've read it in Greg King's book "The Last Empress", but I guess it was there.
