Olga Nicholaievna / Re: Question About/Need Help With Picture(s)

Hmm. What does Tatiana have around her neck?

I think that is the collar of their shirts under the peacoat (Olga is wearing one, too)

Thanks, Michelle! Great selections. Beinecke is priceless, but it can be a pain wading from picture to picture through all those albums -- you certainly scouted out the good ones for us! ;D

Hmm..yeah do you think his 'guest' was made up for the suspense of his story? I wondered that myself! It worked, because it is one of the main things I remember about Radzinsky's book!

Having Fun! / Re: If you could...

I would want to spend the day with Olga Nikolaievna talking about our favorite books. :) Of course, I would also love to spend a day on the Oregon Trail, and a day in England in the 1600s.

Oh this sounds like fun! I could never successfully cross the Oregon Trail in the computer game :P

I was not saying it was a dumb question, heck even my answer is probably wrong! I just think it's a little ironic how Ermakov raved about everything he did during the muder and Yurovksy denied it! Proves that somebody had delusions of granduer...

 ;D That's really funny, if it's true!

or Yurovsky. in his statement..

Anastasia Nicholaievna / Re: Last Pictures of Anastasia

Yes, it does look like one of those weird touch-ups. I thought I remember seeing it labled as a painting, though, in Marvin Lyons' book. But I sold the darn thing on Ebay so I can't look it up! I remember thinking it looked too good to be a painting. If anyone has that book, do you think you could look it up? I think the picture was more toward the back of the book, with the captivity photos...

Yep it's a painting, found in Marvin Lyons' "Nicholas II: the Last Tsar". The name of the artist escapes me at the moment, but I am sure it is a painting, from when they were in captivity.

Oh! Oops! I confused the picture in question with the picture in Carlota's signature! Silly me...yes I see what you are saying now. That isn't Tatiana's noticeable physique. :)

Fat? LOL. Sorry guys I don't see it! Maybe it is because she is hidden behind Anastasia..

Hmm. Yes it looks like Alix, Nicky and the Dowager Empress...I think I see GD Sergei's somewhere to the right of her too. Small picture!

The Imperial Family / Re: Anybody alive NOW whohas  met the IF?

Oh yes me too!  ;D
I mean, it was cool to read Gilliard, Buxhoeveden, Dehn, and Vyrubova. But what about the recollections of those who haven't had a chance to speak? Maybe those who only saw gilmpses of the IF, but knew enough about them to tell the world and make an interesting anthology. It's a great idea, but there probably aren't too many of them left! :-/

Olga and Anastasia were shorter than the other two. Anastasia was around 5'2", Olga 5'4", Tatiana somewhere between 5'7"-5''9" and Maria I have read as probably 5'6" or 5'7". Alix...5'8" and Alexei and Nicholas were 5'6".
