There is a book on eBay right now entitled "letters of Alice" there is two copies, published in 1884. This would have been way before Alix was even married.

What did the family feel about their personal items getting publicly published?

This is something that is very important, especially with the winter months coming up, more are going to be abandoned.

The need for homes has never been more desperate.

Please help spread the word.

Despite finding homes for 2,299 dogs and cats during July and August - a THS record - the number of abandoned animals continues to overwhelm the Shelter.

For example, on Tuesday, September 13, 58 cats were abandoned at the front desk. Imagine how hard it will be to find them good homes.

Please help! If you've been considering adopting a pet, please come down to the shelter this weekend and give a wonderful animal a loving new home. Please do not forget to let your friends, colleagues and families know they too could find a new best friend for life this weekend.

We are waiving adoption fees for the whole weekend to try to peak people's interest, but adopters will still have to go through the usual adoption procedures.

Adoption Hours: Friday, September 16 - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17 & Sunday, September 18 - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Imperial Russian History / Armenian Genocide
« on: August 11, 2005, 12:06:40 PM »
Today I learned for the first time about the Armenian Genocide. Upon looking into it, parts of it happened in Russia at Artvin and what looks like Olti. I cannot read the cities that well but here is the map.

I don't know that much about it, and only have read little. The majority didn't happen is Russia, but the parts that did... why didn't NII put a stop to it?

I am sorry if this post makes me sound ignorant. I don't know that much on it, but can't wait to hear what everyone knows.

The Russian Revolution / The Hanging of Alexander Ulyanov
« on: March 30, 2005, 05:01:19 PM »
I read on this website that Lenin (Lenin being Vladimir Ilich Lenin) witnessed his brothers hanging..

Vladimir Lenin, the Bolshevik revolutionary whose general disinterest in political or social questions changed forever on the day he witnessed the public hanging of his brother, accused of plotting the attempted assassination of Tsar Alexander III

Is that true?

Here's the link:

I am curious, if we are all using our own webspace to host out own Avatars, can we up the avatar size to 100x100 on the forum? I know right now they are 50x50? I think.. I figured most avatars are made 100x100, so I am curious if we can do that?   ???
