Gatrell's book is on one of my earlier posts. He also wrote the book "A Whole Empire Walking" dealing with refugees in Russia during WW I

Another great book is "Russia's First World War: A Social and Economic History " by Peter Gatrell. I had to read it during my undergrad and always found it quite interesting
