Thanks for the feedback, this is the second series being shown on SBS TV, it sells for $80 on the SBS Shop, I am going to try my local library for a inter- library search to get it

Every Sunday night the Sydney SBS Channel One is showing A History of Scotland hosted by Neil Oliver, tonights episode is about the shady banker William Paterson and the ill- fated
Darien scheme and the proposed union with the English. I have only seen one episode of this series ,has anyone seen it and is it worthing buying.

I saw the new zombie movie Resident Evil - Afterlife, the fourth film in the video game inspired franchise and the first in 3D. last week in Sydney. This one sees Milla Jovovich turn up again as Alice and Chris - Prison Break''s
Wentworth Miller. Jovovich is highlly athletic but dreadfully wooden, but I miss Sigourney Weaver. Score 2/5

In reference to Hollywood, European and  British actors and actresses in the drama and film business, there is no one in my opinion with the talent to play the roles today,compared to the the 1974 Fall of Eagles
cast,you will probably have to scrape the barrel to find some decent actors compared to the  golden age of american,british and european films and actors from the 1930's to the 1990's.

I reckon we are due for a another mini series based on the subject of Fall of Eagles, 13 episodes made in 1974. After 36 years, I first saw it on Australian tv in black & white in the 1970's.
It was great to finally see it in colour on DVD , four years ago.

Hope you can find the book  - Threshold of Terror -  The Last Hours of the French Monarchy on 10/08/1792 by Rod Allen,1999 - ISBN 0750920300, Sutton Publishing Ltd,
a interesting read about the Swiiss guards on that fateful day,Try a inter library search with other libraries, I always do it in Australia, they alway find my request from other Australian libraries

There is some missing footage from the DVD edition, anyone know which episode , hoping the BBC archives will find it one day or has it has vanished forever,
you never know it might turn up one day, like the missing film of a early 1960's Dr Who episode found in New Zealand

I used the search engine , nothing came up on the change of name of the Saxe Coburgs to their new name Windsor in 1917, must be a user problem
I like to get more information on the name changes on the Royal Family and their relatives

 Thanks again, I always appreciate your research and knowledge, I will follow up on the new information especially the russian tv documentary,looks interesting and do some Googling.
 Now and then at one of the big book stores like Borders in Sydney, I come across articles in overseas Military Auction magazines and Military Illustrated is another good magazine that profiles regiments and battles ect

I watched the Samurai tv documentary, WOW IT WAS TERRIFIC, brought back great memories of my childhood in the the 1960's in Sydney.I remember my brother  and I dressing up in black pjamas as ninjas and using mum's broomstick as a sword fighting the neighbour kids.
 I hope SBS re runs the tv series and releases the the documentary on DVD, I will get back with the release date

The tv special Shintaro is on SBS ONE wednesday night at 8.30pm -
It is a look at the cross cultural success of the 1960s tv series - The Samurai - imported from Japan and dubbed into english, it was a smash hit, astonishing broadcasters, advertisers, the press and critics alike

 In 1965, Koichi Ose, the japanese actor who played the Samurai landed at Melbourne's airport he was greeted by 7000 fans - more than greeted the Beatles the previous year.

Is that a recent cartoon that might have been on the Cartoon Network, I  will have to ask my 10 year old nephew.

Any Aussie Forum members remember the Japanese TV show The Sumari in the 1960's Starring Shintaro and all his ninja enemies, I remember racing home from school to watch it, anyway the SBS Channel is showing a documentary special on the show, check your TV guides over the next 2 weeks, the show now reminds me of the other show Monkey with the japanese voices dubbed in english
