Servants, Friends and Retainers / Re: Jim Hercules

Hi , any threads on  the american Jim Hercules. one of the black moors who guarded the Imperial family, mentioned in Robert Massie's Nicholas & Alexandra book, did he return to  the deep south, his story and background would be a great movie
Anyone know any photographs, movies and documentaries, I like to know if they travelled with the Imperial Family and were they stationed at the Alexander Palace only or any other palaces
The 1970 movie Nicholas & Alexandra shows them dressed in their splendid uniforms
 Kind Regards

I am sure they used on location in Spain, one of the royal palaces for the Alexander Palace, Nicholas and Alexandra made in 1971 is still the best movie on the Romanovs, it is not perfect.

Fall of Eagles is now available in Australia, the DVD - 4 DISCS with book - 755 minutes, can be bought from any ABC SHOPS - $89

  Cheers, I. Opal

Australians also fought during the civil war campaign in 1919

This week in Sydney, a Russian Film Festival opens, one of the movies is Assassination of the Tsar by director Shakhnazarov

Is the movie worth going to see, like to get your comments ;)

the song Open up your Heart by G.Wayne Thomas

 Hi Arturo
Will the book be available in Sydney, will any Australian booksellers like Borders or Dymocks, have copies coming down under ;)

I watched the DVD today, it is in wide screen format and a pretty good print, same as the ameriican print, still worth buying, much better
than the VHS Video I had in the 1980's  ;)

The N & A DVD has finally been released in Australia, it is only available in the Big W retail stores - $12 - I got my copy in Sydney
only problem is there is no extras, not even a 1971 movie trailer, unlike the american edition which I got 5 years ago which is a much better DVD with extra features ;)
