Just a few random comments about OTMA marriages.
1. Olga was very religious and that meant she was not interested in marrying Carol of Romania or Dmitri Pavlovich, both of whom were "players". In retrospect, she would have been better served marrying Ioann K in theory but there was no romantic spark, so he married Helen of Serbia.
2. None of the girls could have married unequally due to the Fundamental Law of the Russian Empire. I believe had there been no war, the older two would have been introduced to other royal eligible men with the hope that a match or two could have come from it.
3. I have stated over the past 50 or so years that we can figure out some probable marriages for the girls based on the marriages of the men who would have married them:
A. Olga - Alexander of Yugoslavia (1888 - 1933) was sincerely Christian and was seeing Olga at the AP right before the Revolution. His sister Helen was living in Russia and she was known to support a match with Olga. He had no engagements until he married in 1922 and broke down when he was told of Olga's death.
B. Tatiana - Edward VIII (1894 - 1972) - Tatiana had the kind of personality to be able to dominate her spouse without being obnoxious. I think World History would have been changed if this marriage could have happened.
C. Maria - George II of Greece (1890 - 1947) - these two could have made beautiful royal babies together. Both were good looking and while he was not a successful monarch, he seemed to crave the domestic life that Maria wanted.
D. Anastasia - A Romanov - had her sisters all married sovereigns (or about to be sovereigns) - it is likely that she could have had her pick among her family. The Konstantinovichi brothers had handsome and talented young men who enjoyed theater as she did.
