How was the relationship between Alix and Grand Duchess Victoria F. (wife of Cyrill) after the divorce of Victoria and Ernie?

How was the reaction of Alix when her former Sister-in-law came into Russia? What kind of relationship did they have?

Alix had to receive her former sisther in law, because it was custom. There were some meeting between eachother, but I don't think that there were many.

That Alix didn't like Victoria we all know, specially after the divorce. But what did Victoria thouht about Alix?

And there are some pictures of Alix and Victoria together after the divorce of Victoria and Ernie. Who can post them?

If you may choose, three books, you don't have about the Romanovs, who must be reprinted, which three books would you choose?

I say:

Romanov Autumn, Charlotte Zeepvat.
The Complete Wartime Correspondecen, by N&A
A Romanov Diary, by Grand Duches Marie G.

Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich and Pavlovsk. A magnificent picture book with many never before seen images of the famed KR and his family.

Who can tell me more about this book. I've ordered it. But can't wait.

Is this a coffee table book about KR and his family or is this a book about Pavlovsk Palace and his famous residents? Because I don't really like arhictecture, I don't hope it is a book about every room in this Palace, bathtubs, kitchesn, but a very nice coffee table book about KR and his family.

Who can tell me?

IROSHNIKOV, MIKHAIL  The Sunset of the Romanov Dynasty

Who can me tell me more about this book. Its a book full of pictures.

But I've already Camera and The Tsars, the book of Prince Michael of Greece and almost all other coffee table books.

But is this a book of photo's you never have seen before?

Thanks in advance.

Research Russian Roots / ROMANOVS IN THE NETHERLANDS???

Who can help me.

In 2003 a collegue of me told me a very strange thing. When I told her that I was interested in the Romanovs, she told a story that flap my ears.

She told about a old(er) lady who lived, I thought in Amsterdam or The Hague and who called herself, Tante Romanov (aunt Romanov). Claiming that she was a Romanov. I don't know if it was by birth or by marriage.

But I never heard of a Romanov (by marriage or birth) who lived in the Netherlands (only Queen Beatrix, her sisthers and her offspring).

Who can tell me? Who know of a Romanov living in the Netherlands?

My collegue told that she is still living and was born before the second World War. And she could tell in interesting details about courtlife.

Who know more about this lady? Who can she possible be?

Having Fun! / What kind of presents?
« on: October 14, 2005, 12:56:40 AM »
I was thinking. The last 10 years there were many Royal weddings around te world:

Felip and Letizia, Constantijn and Laurentien, Willem-Alexander and Maxima, Felip and Mathilde, Martha-Louse and Ari Behn, the count and countess of Wessex etc etc.

My question is. What kind of present is custom to give at a Royal Wedding? Is it an envelop with money, jewels? Some flowers? Or nothing?

Who knows?

The Final Chapter / Change of history

When Nicholas went from Tobolsk to Yekaterinaburg. Alexandra went with him.

What if Alexandra choose to stay with Alexei and the girls. Maybe Nicholas was only shot instead of the whole family.
And were Alexandra and the children interned elswhere and even maybe saved by the Whites.

I think that if Maria not had gone with her parents, the children would be interned elswhere and maybe got their freedom back to send them to their grand mother.

But because Alexandra and Maria went also to Yekaterinaburg, Nicholas created for the rest of his family the situation which made it possible for the rest of his childeren to eventually join him. I think its sure/undoubtedly signed their death warrant.

What do you think?

Forum Announcements / Royal Birthday Calender

Maybe its a good idea to make for this website a Royal Birthday Calender of all the Royal Houses in the world.

So we can daily take a look of which Royal celebrate his/her birthday toyday.

This calender must not be like a thread that everyone can post their reply's, but just a link, where you can only watch.

What do you think? :)

Tsarevich Alexei Nicholaievich / Pictures of Alexei and his Romanov Cousins
« on: September 10, 2005, 03:37:43 AM »
Are there also pictures of Alexei with his Romanov cousins?

Specially those with Irina A., Xenia and Nina, some of the Konstanovitsj children!

The only pictures I've seen that are pictures of him with some of the children of auntie Xenia and with Dmitri.

Forum Announcements / Pfff what I can't understand.

One thing I can't understand. In almost every thread there are some (and every day many more) they reply with only and irritating following answers:

Oh Anastasia is the most prettiest.

I love Tatiana so much.

I wash wondering if Alexandra had a tooth brush.

Did Maria P and Tatiana K. had sleeping party's.

Not to mention the:

Ohs' ???

??? I don't know what you mean..

Alexei is so handsome.

I hope Prince William will mary me, so I could be Queen of England (so stupid).

Some people give answers were I think of: Oh my God is she/he really so stupid of is she/he playing it?

So please, first think then REPLY.

I don't know if this could be put in this thread, but because the Dutch monarchie has not one for herself I'll put it here.

Born at 14.41 at sunday 26th of june 2005:

Princess Alexia Juliana Marcela Laurentien. Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of the House of Oranje-Nassau.

She is the second daughter of the Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his wife Princess Maxima Zorreguita.

Who can tell me more about this book?
What kind of pictures are in this book? New ones?

ROMANOV - FRAGMENTS DE VIE. La famille du Grand-Duc Alexandre Mikhailovitch de Russie en 1914, 1915, 1916 & 1919.

Alexandra Feodorovna / Alix and princess Paley
« on: May 18, 2005, 06:22:42 AM »
Was there a friendship between Alix and pss. O. Paley or was it just a one-sized-friendship of princess Paley towards the Empress?

What did Alexandra thought about pss. Paley after their first meeting.? I've read that Alix was very nervous during the interview.

For what I understand is that the Paley children played with OTMA and Alexei.

And that pss Paley kept contact with the IF during their captivity? Is that true?

Is there a picture of the maid Ersberg, who went in captivity with the IF?

And is there more information about her!
