That is the current new look.  Bob is designing a new larger logo to replace the old one, so there will be some cosmetic changes soon.  It was more important to make sure nothing was lost and upgrade the software, so those were the top priorities.  The look of the Forum was secondary and Bob will be making the change soon.

As you have probably noticed, the Forum looks a little different.  With HUGE Thanks to Cristian and Pallasart.  The entire database was backed up, so we lost nothing, and the Forum was upgraded to the newest  version of the software.

There are some new things, for example a newly approved user will have to "verify" being a person before their first post to prevent spam.

It will be a learning curve for all of us, myself included. So please do not hesitate to ask any question or report problems and glitches.

Again, HUGE THANKS to Cristian and the team at Pallasart Web Design.

Well, one theory is impossible.  At the start of the War, Nicholas II had all overseas bank accounts returned to Russia. Once the Revolution took place and Nicholas was arrested, his Russian bank accounts were seized. There was no access to the money and virtually no way to transfer large sums to England even if they had wanted to and it would have been nearly impossible to hand carry a large sum of money.  There were quite literally no accounts designated to support the Emperor in Exile, Nicholas had never been able to make such arrangements.  So, Bark was never paid off by that method anyway.  The Book "The Lost Fortune of the Tsars" is a comprehensive tracing of the Emperors money and wealth and pretty much it is all accounted for and there was nothing left.

Imperial Russian Antiques / Re: Russian imperial easter egg

This is not an appropriate forum for selling your antiques. I suggest you try Ebay or calling a local Auction house.

We are a History discussion forum. We allow "fun" postings but feel the stress is for historical discussion. Therefore, we do not count "fun" posts but only the serious history factual discussions. I'm sorry if that bothers you for whatever reason. If you don't like it, you are free to participate elsewhere. We have dozens of serious credentialed historians who participate here who actually don't even want the "fun" threads. We try to keep a fair balance.

I found this book at a library and decided to rent it since I rarely run into Romanov related books.
After reading the first 20 pages or so and seeing a photo of Rasputin with Alexandra, Alexei and OTMA captioned "Rasputin, surrounded by 'admiring women'" I started to have doubts.

Is this book a complete fiction, a book filled with crazy conspiracy theories, simply just a bad book or at least outdated? Or is it worth reading for some reason?

I'm sorry for mentioning this book... it seems to be controversial. Please don't grill me.

Just noticed the question.  The book is not well researched.  Conclusions are based on incorrect or inaccurate sources and information and some assertions are unsupported entirely. Much stated as "fact" is not correct.

Not worth the time or $ IMO which was also the vast majority consensus at the time.

Photos must be uploaded to a separate server of your choice, such as Snapfish. Then you embed the URL of the photo.  We do not have enough server bandwidth to accommodate
uploading all the photos to our server.

Imperial Russian History / Re: The Prokudin-Gorski photo collection

Given the fragile nature of these plates, corn starch on glass with nothing to hold the starch color on and the fact that it was illegal to possess any image of the Imperial Family during the Bolshevik and early Soviet era, the chances are slim.

Hundreds of P-G plates from his studio were used to build greenhouses for food during the famine years. Sad what images were lost.

It is believed that the IF did have P-G color photographs taken, but they remained in their possession.  Said to have been in the Alexander Palace, Anitchkov (Gifts to MF) and at Livadia. None seem to have survived. P-G photos were unique plates which could not be reproduced at the time except by halftone with the little dots. We have a volume of P-G photos of Koustar Art taken by P-G in 1913 with these type plates. As they were glass plates, they were very fragile and most likely did not survive the Bolshevik/Soviet era

Anastasia Nicholaievna / Re: Countess Anastasia?

Perhaps it is just a typo and "Countless" was meant.  Regardless, a Grand Duchess is a Grand Duchess.

Oh they searched. They just never found the safe. The Imperial Bedroom was a museum display which they did not want to disturb. The Nazis had no such motive

Childish manners and crude remarks are are not expected from intelligent persons but you know the answer to that statement.  We are not sure what you mean by saying I know what side your theories are on?  We would be interested to know your meaning .

Royal Bloodline Descent function is to bring forth facts that so far have been proven real and untouched photographs.  We face reality but we do not understand your outbursts  and negativity might it be you have accepted our information as true?.  RBD function is to present what is fact and not fiction but there are those who will deny anything that does not go by the way another may see a situation , we are open to other people views right or wrong  and as you can tell it is very hard for RBD to falsify photos found on various web sights including the well respected Alexander Palace.

I understand DNA far more than "rudiments".  I suggest you study English with more interest than DNA. Your claim that one daughter did not share some ludicrous "earlobe" marker as yet "UNKNOWN" and UNPROVEN is HOGWASH. There is no respect for utter speculation without scientific background. Take your spurious claims to the unintelligent. Learn to write proper English. Your grammar and vocabulary are out of Google Translate.

"Proper Grammar is the difference between "knowing your shit" and "knowing you're shit".

I know which side you and your theories are on.

Except you do not bring "facts" you bring unsupported speculation.  The fact you don't understand what I wrote underscores my statement that you need to learn proper English.
