Hi again,
I´m looking over the press book of my dvd. I think the scene you told of Alexey with the pony is that i wrote before and was shot in La Granja of Segobia. I don´t know where is the palace used for the Bloody Sunday scene...could be some kind of scenery? there´s a lot of frog...but it´s supposed that everything was filmed in Spain and the interiors were done in the Sevilla Studios. They were filming from november 30th of 1970 to April 17th of the following year.

Hello Greg!
You are right, somehow i forgot that. La Granja appears only once(Nicholas and Alexey go for a ride and Alexandra is looking through the window and then kiss Rasputin´s cross), and the palace of Aranjuez is used as the Alexander Palace. Aranjuez and La Granja are two different places, being the first baroque in style. Thanks for the comment!

Hello Janet,
You were right, it was filmed mainly in Madrid and its outskirts. The Winter Palace is the Royal Palace or "Palacio de Oriente". Tsarskoe Selo is "La Granja"(The Farm), and the Station is, in fact, the Atocha station, sadly famous now in Spain for the terrorist attack we´ve suffered.
I think Livadia was filmed( i´m not sure) in Mallorca.

Imperial Succession and the Throne / Re: Who is the rightful heir?
« on: March 17, 2004, 01:00:39 PM »
I´m Spanish and use to see the grand duchess Maria and his son often in press or television. For me, thinking about George as heir is out of the question. First because there´s no throne at all, and second and foremost, in my opinion, is that Kirill´s attitude during the revolution is completely outrageous. To say only one thing, how could he take the troops and leave Alexandra and the children helpless in Tsarskoe???
What about his Oath of Allegiance?
The only good about this family is their palace, in which rooms, however, we must remember that  Alexandra was openly insulted by Miechen...

The Final Chapter / Re: The final destination?
« on: March 17, 2004, 12:14:27 PM »
Well, i really do not know where to post this question...
The imperial family in Tobolsk was forced to be photographed full face and profile for making identification cards they had to carry everywhere. Does anyone know what became of these photographs. This subect has interested me a lot since those would be the last photographs of them all.
Might be preserved in the GARF???

Imperial Russian Antiques / Re: Romanov Items/Souvenirs that You Own
« on: March 17, 2004, 12:06:36 PM »
Thanks  a lot Nick and Robert for your information!. What i have is a jeton, i bought it for its beauty and for being related to g.d.Tatiana. It´s not made by Faberge and, of course,  i´ve never thought it being her property but something presented( might it be by herself?) to people working for her comitte. However i have no document to certify this.

Does anyone has anymore Romanov Antique's / Souvenirs?

Well, I have what i was told is a jetton from grand duchess Tatiana´s war comitte. It´s more or less heart shaped, made of silver and blue and white enamel. it has a crown on top and Tatiana´s initials. It measures 4.5 cm but as i have not any catalogue of russian medals and similars, i have never been able to see anything of the kind. Perhaps someone knows more about this things and could help me.

Tsarskoe Selo Palaces / Re: The Lower Dacha (New Palace), at Peterhof
« on: March 14, 2004, 10:36:42 PM »
I´m very happy to share any photograph i could have, the only problem is that i´m not very good with computers...i could do a good digital copy on glossy paper and send it to some direction you tell me. That´s for me the easiest way, but if it is not possible i will tray to call for the help of some friend. Just tell me how should i do it.
The photograph comes from a very interesting book published for the tercentenary of Peterhof (1705-2005) full of photographs of the postwar period.
By the way, i found in a catalogue from the exhibiton "The Hermitage during the war of 1941-1945" a war-time photograph of aone of the showrooms of the museum full of non-evacuated furniture. You can see in the foreground to the right of the door on top of a crate on of the distinctive chairs from the grand duchesses´drawing room at the Lower Dacha (page 200, picture 229). í found it interesting since i like this palace and its interiors very much.

The Alexander Palace / Re: Food, Wine and Meals

THANKS BOB!!!
You must feel of course very privileged, not only for having such a piece and the possibility to see its actual colour but specially for having met A. Kuchumov... I would be fascinated to hear MORE of that conversations you had and the things he told you.
The others things he had may be now in Pavlovsk, what do you think? It´s really a matter of great importance for the future restoration. Besides, Natasha(the curator) told me that the relations betwen the two palaces, i mean Pavlovsk and Tsarskoe, is somehow difficult......
I saw in one of the former of Nicholas´rooms( i think it was the bathroom) a recreation of the bookcases from the second library of the palace.
I will try with the Petersburg archive the next time i am in Russia, thanks again!!!!

I´m looking for some plan of this palace...but as well as with Peterhof´s  New palace i cannot find anything...
I read some time ago that the palace has a lot of original furniture from the palace that has been stored for years and is now being carried back to the rooms.
I think(cannot be sure) that the chairs used in the famous photograph of the Yalta Conference taken in the italian courtyard were the same that were used by the grand duchesses in some photographs with Gilliard having lessons in a terrace-balcony....might it be?

Hello all!

 That book is really wonderful!!
Now, have anyone some floor plan of the palace??
I would like  to see if possible some photograph of the vestibule, Nicholas and Alexandra´s bedroom or any other that cannot be found on this book...
By the way, i have a good photograph of the palace right after WWII and even if badly damaged was not in worse condition than the Grand Palace....

Thanks!!!!!

All of the gala menus are in the archives of the palace in St. Petersburg.  Each day all of the events that took place in the palace were recorded in beautiful script in a huge book.  The personal meals that were served to the family in their private quarters are recorded as well.  That's where we found the recipes we have on the site.

They followed all of the fasts very carefully.

Hello Bob,
Last time i was in Tsarskoe i asked the present curator of the Alexander Palace about the palace archives but she told me they had nothing of the kind, and so told me the vicedirector of the Catherine Palace, Iraida Kurtovna Bott. However they shew me a box of mounted photographs of the interiors preserved in the latter palace archive.  I asked too about the fragments of palace curtains and wall hangings you wrote that Anatoly Kuchumov have shown to you and the A. P. curator told me that she had only seen an album of photographs assembled by Kuchumov in which some tiny samples of these fabrics were pasted that is now preserved in Pavlovsk....
Is perhaps the palace archive in the Senate building???
Could you tell us more about the present state of these archives and where could be found?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
