Imperial Russian Antiques / Re: Faberge Eggs
« on: October 30, 2005, 11:40:30 AM »

Was in Brussels yesterday to see the new Fabergé exhibit. All Forbes/Vekselberg Eggs are there, the Mosaic Egg and the 1917 Blue Constellation Egg!!

There seem at least to be two of such eggs, but the one in Brussels is unfinished and I am so relieved!

See: http://www.mieks.com/Faberge2/1917-Blue-Constellation-Egg.htm.

For the Fabergé exhibit see http://www.europalia.be/russia2005/program.php?category=1

Hi Everybody,

There is a big Fabergé exhibition this days in Brussels, except for all Forbes/Vekselberg Eggs, The Mosaic Egg and the 1917 Blue Constellation Egg, there are about 200 other Fabergé pieces!

I was there yesterday and am still amazed at the beauty of everything I have seen there!

Exhibition is part of the big Europalia. More info on my site or on http://www.europalia.be/russia2005/program.php?category=1

Hi everyone,

Hope I am posting in the right thread, as there are so many in this board. I am very interested in the Fabergé Eggs and found this picture on the internet of the bolsheviks and imperial treasures.

On the picture are at least 5 Eggs (in white circles), but maybe more. Does anyone have a better/bigger picture without the red markings?

Hoi Allemaal, (Hi everyone)

Rudy ook van mij een groet! En even zeggen natuurlijk dat ook in Zuid Afrika Nederlands wordt verstaan ;-))

Rudy, greetings from me too, and for the record, in South Africa many people do understand Dutch too.

Looking for someone to translate a few sentences in Russian, I did it through Babelfish and I know how horrible that can turn out. Rudy, iets voor jou misschien?

groetjes,
Miek

Thanks Baby-T, I often wished I had half an egg, or just a piece of the shell,  ;D but alas!

End of next week I am going to Berlin, to see the 15 Vekselberg Eggs, I am so excited, never saw a Fabergé Egg in "real" before!

grds,

Miek

Hoi Teddy,

Heerlijk zo'n hartelijk onthaal!

groeten,
Miek

Hi Storm,
Dont know yet how to post individual pictures, but here http://www.mieks.com/Faberge/1917-Blue-Constellation-Egg.htm you can see the egg finished, end of the page.

It makes me feel sad and wish they het left it unfinished.

Here is my site about Fabergé Eggs; made in Ducht and English, direct link to the English pages http://www.mieks.com/Faberge2/index2.htm

Through the eggs I became interested in the Romanovs, every Egg has its own story and the story starts for me with the First Hen Egg given in 1885 by Alexander III to his Tsarina and ends with the 1917 Eggs that sadly never reached the persons they were made for. Love your pictures of the family, I have only Eggs in store ;-))

rgds, Miek
