Tatiana Nicholaievna / Tatiana's regiment
« on: August 02, 2004, 01:40:10 AM »
Does anyone know when Tatiana got her regiment?  I recall reading that Olga's was given on her nameday (July 11) in 1910 at fifteen.  So would Tatiana have gotten hers in 1912 on her nameday, which I believe was in January?

Oh, wow!  They're wonderful!  How did you color them?

It took me forever to find one of them, but here are the two photos I promised I would post. :)

I made this one smaller and cleaned it up a bit so it wasn't so grainy.

This one's smaller too.  If y'all want the full sizes, just tell me and I can email them to you or something.

How cute!  Does this Indigo store have a website where one could order stuff online? :)

At 16 the girls were considered old enough to wear their hair up and go to dances. :) The red sashes are of the Order of St. Catherine, and so are the little stars.

I colored this photo in tribute to Alexei.  :)

I've herd good things about this movie, but, alas, it doesn't look like it'll be released in Region 1 formatting. :(

Here are two I found.  There's another one, of Maria with Olga Alexandrovna, Olga and ANastasia I can't find right now.

Epps?  I don't recall hearing about any other English tutor but Gibbes.   ???

I've a better scan of that photograph from Nikolai !!: The Family Album.  It's also in some other book I have, and looks clearer as I recall, but I can't figure out which book.  Here 'tis.

I do remember some book that had an ever so obvious fake photo: it was Anastasia, Rasputin, Alexandra and Olga, and that was a REAL fake.

That photo was taken in 1916.  I've got that one and another photo taken of the same session where they look better.  When I get home I'll post them both.

I read this book when I was at Stanford University and intend on buying it from GRB. :)  It's absolutely adorable.

Alas, she's 30 now, but when she was younger, Laurie Holden looked like Olga (she was Princess Ekaterina Dashkova in Young Catherine).  She's an amazing actress.

I agree the gal who plays Wendy could have been one of the girls.  I forget her name, but I ended up thinking Maria instead of Anastasia for her...she has those same blue eyes and pretty mouth.

A scene that's not on VHS is where Tatiana reveals herself to a Bolshevik guard.

I think the scene where the girls are painting with M. Gilliard is sorta cute.  But I don't like that movie in general.

The ball you're talking about from that painting was based on a ball at the Assembly Hall of the Nobility, February 1913.
