Marie with grandchildren:

The picture shows Marie ALexandrowna with some of her grandchildren. Does anybody know which ones and when the picture was made?

I read in that thread that some biographies of Marie Alexandrowna were planned and it was planned that her letters would be published.
Does anybody know if the letters had been been published or if a biography of her had been published?

I also would like to know whether she or one of her daughters had contact with Ernie of Hesse or his sisters after his divorce of Ducky.

Please, can somebody help to identify the persons in the picture with Queen Victoria?

I know from left to right  Louis of Hesse, Beatrice, QV, Alix?, Ernie, ?.

Is the lady with the baby Louise of Connaught? And the girl next to QV Alix?

What about Victoria, Irene and Ernie? Did they know about Alix and Rasputin? Had they met him on one of their visits?
What was their opinion on him? Did they try to persuade Alix to let off Rasputin?

The boy in the wagon is Georg-Donatus. The picture was shot in 1910 when the Imperial Family stayed in Friedberg/Hesse.

The other picture shot on board of the "Standart" shows Grandduchess Tatjana with her cousin Ludwig of Hesse.

It that Grand Duchess Maria with her grandfather, King George I of Greece in the carriage in the third photo?

No. The picture showed her with her husband, Prince Wilhelm of Sweden. It was made in 1908 when she arrived in Stockholm.

for the exhibition was taking place from Oct., 25 2005 to March, 19 2206 I wonder what happened to the exhibits. Did they return to Darmstadt or could they been seen somewhere else? Does anybody know about?

it's interesting to learn that Lady Rose Windsor became engaged.

Beside the announcement in the Court Circular had there been any articles in magazines about her engagement?
Does anybody have pictures of Lady Rose and her future husband George Gilman?

I would like to know about her. For she has no official functions what is she doing?

I found the following picture of the young Queen Victoria. Comparing it with the pictures of Beatrice I find that there is a strong resemblance between Beatrice and her ancestor.

While surfing in the internet I came across this picture showing Ernie, Nicholas, Dickie Mountbatten (sitting in front) and two other boys.
I wonder who they are. Could they be Waldemar and Sigismund of Prussia, the sons of Irene?

I know that Ernie and Dickie Mountbatten saw each other regularly when the Battenbergs spent the summers on Heiligenberg.

What about Waldemar and Sigismund of Prussia?

I did not find one picture showing them with Ernie or their other uncles or aunts. I also wondered that they were not at Wolfsgarten or Friedberg when Nicholas and Alix stayed there with their family in 1910, nor have they been among the wedding guests at the wedding of Alice Battenberg and Andreas of Greece in 1903? Were there any reasons why they were excluded from family gatherings?

Does anybody have pictures with them and their cousins or uncles or aunts?

This one shows the chimney of the factory. which was damaged by the plane. On the right side on the roof you can see a part of the demolished wing.

That's the original picture the clipping was taken.

The picture was made on 19 November 1937, the day of the funeral of Eleonore, Georg-Donatus, Cecile and their two sons, when the mourners walk through the streets of Darmstadt to Rosenhöhe.

Prince Ludwig, Ernie's second son, as chief mourner walks in front. In the first row he' s followed by Prince Gottfried of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, Princes Christorph and Philipp of Hesse-Cassel, next Prince Philip (now the Duke of Edinburgh) and Prince Berthold of Baden. In the next row the man with the naval hat is Lord Mountbatten.The third row shows George Milford-Haven, his son David and Drino Carisbroke
