I guess it would all depend. If you were invited to the wedding, you'd most likely be very well-off. So maybe pieces of art, a vase, or something other. Jewelry for the bride won't go unappreciated, either.

Angie, I would love it if you could post the bw version of the Victoria, Ella & Irene pic you did. Or at least point me to where you found it. It's wonderful!

OK, I'm going to be the party-pooper, but this should be in the Discussion Forum threads, not here. It's a section that some members can't see, but FA can make it so that you can. PM him if interested.

I have "4 Dancers" by Degas on my desktop at the moment. Here's a link to it since it's very large.

Before, it was Princess Aurora from "Sleeping Beauty"... I love the Disney Princesses! :)

I'm using Photo Shop and I am getting stuck on step 2. How do I create a signature  ???  and 2b is messing me up too. I am at a loss...How do you "Drag and Drop"? Putting the border on is easy! Its the rest that is making me go "HUH?!!"

How you make a signature is to go to your toolbar to where the "T" is... that's the text tool. Then go to your pic and click and drag to make a text box. Once you let go of the mouse button, you'll see the cursor. Then type in whatever you want your signature to be. The font, font size, and font color information will be up at the top of the screen.

Once you have your signature, you can move it around using the move tool... it's located alongside the marquee tool at the top of the side toolbar. Then if you did step 2a, it then says to go directly to step 4.... therefore no drag and drop. Step 4 is for the layer modes and beveling and embossing. For the layer mode, make sure the text layer is selected and right above there's a scroll down box with the options. I chose hardlight... made it a little more visible. Then I did the filter. That's located under "Filter" > "Stylize" > and then choose emboss. My computer doesn't have the bevel option, so I didn't do it, but it still looks good without it.

If you have anymore questions, let me know and I'll be glad to help!

OK kiddies, I had an idea to try to put the kubash on recoloring, it's really easy, and I ran it past Laura and she liked the idea. My idea was to put a nearly transparent watermark over the image, much like what Corbis and other companies do with theirs. I figure everyone would be happy because the colorers wouldn't really need to be worried about someone taking their photo to reuse, and others can have the enjoyment of seeing colored photos. Though it still would be possible to erase the watermark, it would be such a pain to do it wouldn't be worth it.

Anyway, I found a tutorial site for Photoshop users and one for Paint Shop Pro users.... if you use a different program, let me know and I'll try to find something for you. Doesn't mean I'll find something though, but I will try.

I encourage everyone to give this a go and see how it works out.

Paint Shop Pro:

Here's the last colored photo I did of OTMAA, only with a watermark this time, just to let everyone see what I was thinking. OTMAA with watermark

P.S. - when I used the term "kiddies" above, don't worry, I call every group of people I'm around kiddies... I'm not singling out the younger set here.

I too will miss Merrique's work, but I understand why she chooses to no longer post her work. It may seem like it could not be done intentionally, but there's nothing accidental about turning something to grayscale. "Oops, I accidentally turned it gray! Well, I might as well color it!" Highly unlikely. It's all premeditated.

Anyway, this will probably be my last pic for a while. It's getting into the busy season for newspaper graphic artists, so I'm basically going to want to avoid computers as much as possible until after the New Year.

How about all of the above? OTMA were normal girls and I'm sure each changed their favorites many times throughout their lives. For example, when I was growing up, I had a lot of favorite colors (none that I really remember though) and when I hit puberty and hated everything, my favorite color became black which worried my mother to no end. But when I came out of that a year later, I liked blue, then green, and now I'm onto pink and moving into purple. During my black phase, I hated pink, so you can see how things can change in a few years.
