I just came across a picture which is described as an unknown woman in the 19th century... which looks like Maria Sophia.

Please note that the white figure at the end of the enfilade through the rooms of the Empress Elizabeth is an actual life size statue of the Empress Elizabeth.  I am surprised no one has posted on it as yet...

maybe i have missed something but im a bit confused...what has this to do whit ghosts/ ghosts in palaces?

indeed part 2 was better!!
i liked it that they putted the crownation dress in it and not like the romy movies a total other dress..
i think this part had a bit of more historical truth in it than the first part...
loved the scene also that franz goes to the front for the war..and how elisabeth helped the sick and injured people of the war while franz was there..so good they put that in it!

now how stupid they said dont compare this one with the 50s movies (thats what the makers said) but still we do that.

Yes, that was funny.
Was the countess of Esterhazy not unfriendly to Sisi and I thought Sisi didn´t like her. But in this movie Lily Hunyady was not her favourite lady in waiting.

yes they have turned that around..twisted it up i guess...

well the part last night only included her sister nene and her brother gackel....dont know if the maker knows that sisi had more brothers and sister lol.
dont get exited... it is a good movie for just a costume drama (like i love) but well people like us who know about the real elisabeth its kinda dissapointing.. so i kept out of my mind that it was based on her real life that makes it more better to watch...well just see it like the ernst marischka movies...and i love to see those movies also even if there isnt much truth in it but all more romantized.

sunday will be the last part on the german tv on ZDF...dont know when that will be on austrian television.
i found the dresses pretty loved it!! and i found it cool this movie you see her first child sophie die..made me cry to be honnest.
its more based on reality than the 50 movies but also to much stuff made up to make it more "romantic" or something.
but the scene from the 50s with the ball on franz birthday when he asked sisi to ask for mariage was more closer to the truth than how it went in this movie.
i was anoyed by some scenes when they did alot of wrong on the truth like Marie Charlotte said.
nevertheless its worth watching!!
i need to say i think this is as good as the romy schneider pieces..its also reminded me of it in some scenes... and the german voice of sisi also reminded me as the romy schneider voice.
to bad the movie has 2 parts and as ending (the same as in the romy schneider movies) its the crowning of hungary. i preferred to see her whole life storie.
i msut say sophie is much sensitiver than in the one in the 50s. she was like a "mean devil" kinda thing and here she is more like she does the way she does for what she thinks is right for sisi in a nicer way than the 50s movie.

now how stupid they said dont compare this one with the 50s movies (thats what the makers said) but still we do that.

i thought i already talked about the white lady but i just found this small article on internet..thought it would be interesting to post it here!

Hapsburg Dynasty's White Lady - Death Omen

The specter foretells disaster or death for the royal dynasty of the Austro/Hungarian Empire. The origin of the White Lady is unknown. Empress Maria Theresa and others saw her at Schonbrunn Palace on April 5, 1807. Maria Theresa died eight days later. Emperor Francis saw her twice, before the deaths of his wife and his father. Empress Elizabeth saw her twice during the same day. Within a week after the empress saw the specter, she was killed by anarchist Luigi Luccheni.
What are Grey Ladies?
Most of these ghosts are hauntings. A haunting has no intelligence and is energy imprinted in time and space, like a videotape. These specters reenact the scene or scenes repeatedly and do not react to witnesses’ presence. They can appear on the anniversary of their deaths, at certain times, such as during a full moon or a stormy night, or intermittently. Grey ladies who are death omens may appear to the one who is about to die and/or other people

so then i guess that the discusion about wether her nickname was lisi or sisi is a bit pointless if the letters of her relative says its sisi...and its not from the movie

12
but if it really was lisi instead of sisi...than why would irma sztaray have written the name as sisi in her book? and in the other older books from corti?

no she only got grey hair...
like the women sitting in the chair but only grey hair when she sits at the desk with ida...

it could also be a stand in for elisabeth (like what her hairdresser fanny feifalik also did)... or family of ida..i am curious who that woman is..its obivously the same women as the so called "grey sisi at the desk"!
