Is the grey one the one that Sissi used for going to Marie Valerie's wedding??
Do you know if the others were used in other important days?

in the book Sisi Mythos und Wahrheit by katrin unterreiner they show that dress!
it was used at Marie Valeries Engagement and at the Emperors Birthday.

The Habsburgs / Re: Empress Elisabeth's epistolary - poems/letters...

Does anybody have any poem that Sissi wrote?  Or do you create yoursel a poem about her? Please post them , it will be very nice to read them.

I´m afraid reading of poems written by Sissi is not very nice. I have read a lot of them in very good biography of Sisssi by Brigitte Hamann. Sissi was not a good poet. Her poems are very long, boring and naive. And sometimes very severe to members of Habsburg dynasty.

i must agree they are not good...but it expresses her feelings..and some are quit funny!
but i dont think she even cared if people wouldnt like it...if i make a poem or something i also dont care about what others think of it...because its a way to express your feelings, even if the poem is good or bad..it is not made 2 be good or anjoying people, its just about how she feels, its about what lies beneath the poem, why she wrote it, what she was feeling and not made to amuse people who like litature.

but thats just my opinion :-)

I am not certain if that is the dress. I have seen it described only as grey silk
The Empress stood 1.72m, which is rather tall for that era, her shoe size was a European size 40, however 55 kilo is way underweight for a woman that size. I do believe that due to her 'circumstances' she was anorexic. Most anorexic get so thin that their hormones get unbalanced and their period stops.
Also, in her artifacts a cocaine syringe was found. Nothing unusual again for that time, but it is also a way to stay thin and still have energy. I think she would have benefitted by a visit to dr Freud......

her weight was less than 55 Kilo...
im also 1,71/1,72 and i way 50 kilo...but i eat all i want i dont get fat..lucky me i guess :p
but nowadays its quiet different!

yes the cocaine syringe was shown on a DVD of a documentary you can buy at schönbrunn or the Hofburg.
but she used it like you said in your other post, for depression and her doctor prescribed it indeed!

other time more knowledge of "drugs"..otherwise people still would have used it as a medicin against depression..
the only stupid thing with drugs like cocain if you use it when your depressed it doubles your feelings more... but well they didnt know it back then i guess
