The Imperial Family / Re: Imperial Icons
« on: March 22, 2009, 04:09:55 PM »
I can't see Alexei on the icon
a bold beared man is St.Nicolas
a person in the front with a white head-dress is a patriarch or metropolitan. his church dignity is stressed with a white dress and black crosses

Her name is Laurence Huot. This picture was taken in 2005 in Saint-Petersburg. She is granddaughter of Grigory Rasputin, i suppose she is descendant of his daughter Matryona (Marie).
Do you know anything about this woman? Where does she live? and so on.

here is her photo:

Sorry, quality is not good as i used a mobile cam

Palaces in St. Petersburg / Re: Kekerikeksinen Palace
« on: March 19, 2009, 03:43:29 PM »
In December 2004, a plate from the "frog service" has been sold. This service was commissionned by Catherine the great for this palace. Does someone have informations about this palace?? ???Thank you.

this palace was built as a house on the way from Petersburg to Moscow to take a rest.
i heard that a in the beginning of the 20 th century it was some kind of alms house. after the murder the body of rasputin was brought there, where the autopsy was held. it's said that empress Alexandra visited the Chesma alms-house that night. now the State university is housed there.

Rasputin / One more version of the murder
« on: March 17, 2009, 02:18:56 PM »
does anybody has info about it?
it's widely discussed one wound found on the side of Rasputin's body. it was made by a sabre or other cold steel. who did it???
sacral murder by masons? but scholars say that masons didn't accomplish bloody offerings in the beginning of 20 cent.

some days ago i read an article. sounds fantastically. that wound was inflicted by Romanov's, Irina's brothers. the author quoted her letters where she retelled that story. he states that the murder took place not in the dinner room in Felix's apartament, but in Secretary room on his grandfather's living quater, on the staircase leading to princess's bedroom. the author suggestes that it was some kind of drinked company. after the murder killers were to compose some fairy tale to look better than it happened to them.

Sorry, if my question had been posted
but does anybody know if hemophilia could be cured? could a hemophiliac person get rid off it?
u know some people believe in Rasputin's prediction. he really helped to Alexey, this fact was confirmed by many sceptics. so Rasputin said that Alexey would be absolutely healthy at 16. is it possible or one more myth???

Yes, we have thoroughly beaten this topic to death.

My fault! i missed the date of discussion. but i wanted to make clear some points. to be honesty, there a few people even in russia (country with imperial past) who exactly knows about word "princess of the blood" ))))

haha, there are enough questions for beaten topic ))))

Palaces in St. Petersburg / Re: Private rooms of the Winter Palace
« on: March 16, 2009, 09:41:21 AM »
Dear Joanna and Pavlov!!!
that pic with the winter palace and cows refers to the 1940th, time of sieged Leningrad. people had nothing to eat and these cows were driven to the city from nearby villages.
"This could only happen in  Soviet Russia" - this exclamation is false. this is result of german nazis invasion.

if you are interested,  look at this beds of cabbage in front of the St'Isaak Cath, one of the main cath of Saint-Petersburg

Alexander, these icons are unofficial. Images were painted by a group of  admirer in our days. Russian Orthodoxy Church is considered the cult of Rasputin to be a heresy and sect.

Do u still need the meaning of Yusupov's coat of arms? i have some info about the meaning)

The most amazing thing is that palace is marked on the map of the city as a Yusupov's. In fact house was sold in 1810 by the family. That's why we have many curiosities on it. Many people and tourist buses goes to that fake route instead of  the museum-palace on the Moyka river (their real former residence).

The Yussupovs / Re: Titles of Felix and Irina
« on: March 15, 2009, 12:52:17 PM »
about Irina's title i can say one thing.
she was not a Grand duchess. According to the old rule Grad Duke (Duchess) is a son, grandson of the ruling emperor, if i'm not mistaken. Then they had some restrictions on it at the end of the 19 century.
Irina was a daughter of Sandro, grand duke Alexander Mikhailovich (the son of g.d Mikhail, grandson of the emperor Nicolas I) and g.d Xenia (daughter of the emperor Alexander III). But in Russia all the titles are inherited to male line.
that's why Irina is not a Grand Duchess, she is THE PRINCESS OF THE BLOOD, in Russia we say The Princess of the Imperial Blood.
After the marrige she lost all the ruling rights and the name, her title was Princess Yusupova.
