Thanks TimM, I'm still learning new techniques and tools I'll keep that in mind so as not to use it in future projects! :)
Here's my latest to complete, I'm quite pleased with most of it.  The image is of Alexei and Kira in the Maple Study at Alexander Palace.  Kira turned out quite well and the background was easy, but Alexei not so much.  I'm not quite satisfied it even looks like him.  Any advice'd be great! :)

Here's some of Felix and Nicholas when they were younger and the image of Zinaida I think was supposed to be while she was pregnant

Thank you very much Bryndis!  Those were a great start for me!  I'll have to resort through my images (uploaded them all to photobucket and so my folders and subfolders aren't there :( ) I found some more of Felix you might find interesting!  I'll post them as soon as I find out where I put 'em.

I wasn't sure where to put this, so I hope it's alright. I intend to start a project of working on OTMAA and their families as if they had survived and to do a line onto current day.  If that makes any sense, basically a line of the monarchy if it had survived to today with a series of photoshopped images.  Anyways, to start off the line I would have to have an adult version of Alexei.  So I've been messing around a bit and would like anyone's input on if any of these look like an adult version of the tsarevich.

Hi everyone, there's a few images I'd like to see if anyone might have.  So far I haven't been able to find any similar to them.  Do any of you happen to have a photo of Felix as a young child when his mother dressed him as a girl?  Another of him is in regards to his book Lost Splendor, he had told a story about walking around the zoo with a monkey when he was a young man but I cannot find it so I don't know if it is just a story.  Lastly is in regards to the period in which Alix and Nicky were considering a possible match between Dmitri Pavlovich and Olga, I've looked and thus far have only been able to find photos with Dmitri and Tatiana do any of you have one of Olga and Dmitri?

Felix only became the heir to the Yusupov family after his elder brother Nicholas died.  So, if Nicholas had survived the duel I wonder what directions the Yusopov family might have taken.  Another one that's held my curiosity is if Felix had been interested in pursuing a relationship with Olga or Tatiana instead of Irina.  If memory serves me correctly Alexandra had been fond of Felix, though I doubt she'd be eager for him to marry one of her children.  Then again, would either of the girls like him, I can't say I know much about his relationship with any of them.  If they had though, that doesn't mean either Nicholas or Alexandra would consent.  After all his exploits gave them enough cause to worry with Irina let alone one of the Tsar's children.  For argument's sake though, consider if they had married would he have gone on to kill Rasputin?  I think it's likely that the man effecting his direct family would have lead Felix to the same decision to murder.  In this case, would he have still been exiled, after all it would have probably been a hard decision for Nicholas as it's one thing to send your niece away and another to send your child.  That is assuming his wife accompanied Felix.

I'd have to say my two favorite stories about him are how he would go around as a toddler asking "Isn't baby pretty?" and the one about how he and his brother would lock guests they didn't like in the elevator and leave them there for the servants to get.

In his old age, having dinner with the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, wearing so much makeup that it cracked and fell onto his plate!

this is the first time i have heard of that can i please have more information on it.  thanks

I read about this in Gregory King's book The Man Who Killed Rasputin.  Essentially, it was that Felix was so vain he caked make up on his face to try and hide the fact that he was aging and his looks fading away.  Well, one night he was having some people over for dinner and the make up kept falling from his face into his food.

It's been a long time since I looked at these, but I felt the need to say this is just lovely Ally.

I'm not sure whether this correct but I vaguely recall that the Yussupovs bought some of the French Crown Jewels when they were publicly auctioned in the 1880's.  Does anyone know if this is the case?

I am currently reading The Man Who Killed Rasputin by Greg King and it did say that they had several pieces that had infact belonged to the French thrown.  If I am not mistaken it even said that Irina used Marie Antoinette's veil on her wedding day. :)

Does anyone have pictures from Irina and Felix's wedding.  I understand pictures weren't taken of the actual ceremony but I'm looking for ones of her in her wedding dress and such.
Please and thank you. :)

This was really rather interesting, and I've actually learned a lot from it.  Nicholas II was a flawed individual like us all and not the best person for his position.  Though I find he did at least try to do some good and help his people.  Like you said he cared for the soldiers serving under him, but I feel that to an extent he had to care for the peasants as well.  But since I've never heard of the "Geneva Conventions" before  :-[ I'll have to look them up  :)  From what you've said so far that does seem to be his best moment, but surely there's been more.  Anyways, it's an interesting topic you've started, so thanks for posting it.
