Thanks so much Laura!  Those are beautiful pictures of the trees... and thanks for the translation of the plaque.

I hope you can find the picture!

I know what you mean about the home videos... they always make me both sad and happy when I watch them.  Sad because, of course, I know their tragic end, but happy because I love to watch them interact as a family.

Thanks for posting this question!  I love reading quotes from the children... their words are so poignant and wise.

Having Fun! / Any Romanov Christmas gifts?
« on: December 25, 2009, 02:02:54 PM »
Did anyone else get anything Romanov related for Christmas this year?

I was thrilled (and surprised) to receive "The Lost World of Nicholas and Alexandra - Tsar" by Peter Kurth and "Royal Russia - The Private Albums of the Russian Imperial Family" by Carol Townend with pictures from the James B. Lovell archive.

Bet you can guess how I'm going to be spending the rest of the day! :-)

Wow - everyone here is so talented!

I'm still a novice when it comes to colouring, but here are my three favourite works so far.

Romanov and Imperial Russia Links / A Monument of Stones - My Romanov site

Thanks to encouragement from the welcome thread, I decided to post a link to my Romanov website.  It's still a real work in progress, and I haven't had a chance to work on it for a while, but I still plan on updating as often as possible.

Here's the link: Click here.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Grand Duchess Jennifer - It's nice to meet another Canadian!  Thanks for the compliments regarding my website... I will definitely make sure to start a thread about in the "Romanov and Imperial Russia Links" board.  Yes, all coloured pictures on my site were coloured by me.  I quite enjoy colouring pictures and find it very relaxing, but I'm still a beginner for sure!

Hi everyone!

My name is Alexis and I'm from Canada.  I've been interested in the Romanov family for as long as I can remember... I'm pretty sure that my mom got the book "Anastasia's Album" by Hugh Brewster out of the library when I was little and that's how it started, but I'm not entirely sure.

Anyway, I've been lurking and reading here for about four or so years, so I thought I should finally join and introduce myself!

I've also been working on-and-off on my own Romanov website which is still a real work in progress, but here's the link.  Click here.

I'm looking forward to the chance to get to know everyone better!
