Today is HM Queen Fabiola's birthday :)

Congratulations to HGD Guillaume and his St├ęphanie, although I'd never heard of St├ęphanie before today, they look very happy and that's what counts.

I share mine with the King, Elvis Presley

Then you also share birthday with Shirley Bassey, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine of Denmark :)
To this day I think Mary and Frederik should have included Elvis and Shirley in the twins' names, hehe.

I share birthday with Guillaume Canet, Princess Ariane of the Netherlands and Chyler Leigh.

Princess Marie has just been delivered to Rigshospitalet,Copenhagen to give birth to her 2nd child!! :)

HRH Princess Marie just gave birth to a wee Princess. It is the 2nd child and first daughter to TRH Prince Joachim and Princess Marie.

The newborn is 10th in line to the Throne and the 7th grandchild of HM Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik.

Actually the little Princess is the 8th grandchild of the Queen and Prince Henrik (Prince Nikolai, Prince Felix, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Henrik, Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and the little baby Princess) and third granddaughter. (:

Congratulations to Marie, Joachim, Nikolai, Felix and Henrik with their little girl!

Wonderful jewels on display ... yet again I have to ask where were the Windsors??

This time Queen Elizabeth and her family is excused, only Scandinavian royals were invited.

Ugh, I was present at Amalienborg when the family appeared on the balcony, and I tell you there were about 10.000 people but it was very funny, everyone at the courtyard was happy and the Queen in particular looked happy.

The twins are absolutely adorable, Prince Vincent's similarity to Prince Christian is really striking and Princess Josephine has inherited Queen Margrethe's big baby cheeks :)

Indeed. More should have been made about other royal houses.

I couldn't agree more, Anna von Lowzow - the maker of the documentaries - makes amazing documentaries about royals (mainly about the DRF). These two programs have been a great success though and have been sold to other countries too, so maybe it'll encourage her to do more.

I have a strange feeling that the Dowager Empress was so possessive of her son (and especially after Alexander III's death) that she would have disliked any wife of his (maybe with the exception of cousin like, for instance, Princess Maria of Greece). One of the reasons why I've always been interested in Nicky and Alix, is the fact that they actually married for love, which was a rare thing back then.

Here's the link to the second and last part of the Danish documentary 'The Royal Jewels'. It mainly puts focus on the Romanov jewels and what happened to them.

The first episode of a program about the DRF's jewels has just aired here in Denmark and it was really good. Queen Ingrid's ruby tiara + set (which she passed on to Frederik who gave it to Mary) got a lot of great coverage and Queen Margrethe told that she 'loved seeing it' on the Crown Princess.
Next sunday at 8:00 pm, next episode will be sent and it'll feature the Romanov jewels as well as Princess Olga Romanoff (granddaughter of Grand Duchess Xenia and Grand Duke Alexander) will  appear alongside Prince Michael of Greece and Prince Michael of Kent to tell about the wonderful Russian jewels.

If anyone's interested, this will air next episode. Of course they're all speaking English, the narrator though, is speaking Danish.

I feel very lucky to live in Copenhagen when such events are thrown here, hopefully I'll get to see a lot of royals and dresses  ;) I'm especially looking forward to the ride in the carriage.
It's a shame though, that Princess Marie probably wont be attending any of the events because of her pregnancy.

Aww, they're all so adorable and CP Marys is just so amazingly beautiful. You can really see that Christian has grown a lot, Bella looks like herself, and the twins are just so sweet. I can't wait to see pictures from their Australian trip, I bet it's gonna be nice for Mary to get back home, especially on that private vacation afterwards on Tasmania.
