So Lilianna, what is picture number 6? Thanks for posting these.  I find the pre-restoration pics more interesting, although it is wonderful the palace is being repaired.

Thanks emmylee, thats just what I needed! Isn't there also another house in Tsarskoe Selo that is exactly like Anna's?  I have another request...Does anyone have a picture taken from Anna V. house looking towards the Alexander Palace?  I have never been able to visualize the distance between the two.

Could I ask if some of you computer wizs here could post a side by side picture of Anna's house then and now?  I get turned around because there are no awnings now, etc.  Enjoyed the pics, thank you alan.

Tsarskoe Selo Town / Re: Where was the station?

How wonderful that you have an apartment in Pushkin and are able to explore all the historic sites at your own pace! There is a lot of information on this site to give you details of the Imperial Train Station. Be sure and take pictures and post them please!

Having Fun! / Re: Looking for pics of the IF children bald.

OTMA, taken by Gilliard in Tsarskoe Selo after June 1917, if I'm not mistaking...

This picture of the girls bald is, I assume, with the Alexander Palace in the background?  So, my question is about that big vase statue.  I don't see that vase in other pictures. Does anybody know where the vase went or if I've got my orientation to the palace wrong?  Thanks.

Vanya, I don't know the answers to your questions, unfortunately, but I am very envious of your travel plans.  I'm curious as to where you are traveling from?  One day I hope I will get to visit Tsarskoe Selo!  The older I get (48) the less appealing the prospect of jet lag becomes!  I live in Asheville, NC.  Enjoy your trip and be sure and take lots of photos! The Alexander Palace / Re: Floorplans of the Alexander Palace

There was the fence that went from the left wing to right wing that enclosed the courtyard. A gate was next to the steps of the left wing entrance.

Joanna

Thanks Joanna, as usual you know the answers to my questions!  Any chance you have a picture of the gate near the steps of left wing?  Thanks, Tracy

Do you (anybody) remember the picture that shows the "gate" where Alexandra and Marie talked to the guards, etc.  I don't have that pic.  Anyway, is that a picture looking into the courtyard of  the palace Kitchen?  Or, is the picture just labeled incorrectly.

Referring to the picture of people at tables on Alexandra's balcony, doesn't it seem like the balcony in the picture is much bigger than it appears in pics of the Imperial Family on the balcony?

I'm wondering if any posters here have pics of the 2nd floor children's exhibition? Maybe I'm not looking in the right thread?  I'm really curious about how much of the 2nd floor is available for touring and if the layout of the rooms is the same as when the Imperial Family left the palace.

So, I guess the second floor of the childrens wing is indeed open!  That's exciting.  I can't wait to hear from someone about what that experience is like and how far down the corridor of the wing is accessible. I wish we could see the right wing after being vacated by the navy but before renovations begin.

Did you notice Maria on the bed behind Anastasia? Is that pic from their room?

Hi Sanochka and welcome.  I love the pics and would like to know where you found them on the web.  Thanks.  Tracy
