NAOTMAA Fan, your work is gorgeous! I do plan to keep up to date with this thread!

I was never crafty enough to make the palaces, so I ended up making my own. But I think I did a really good job with the Romanov family! I think I said in another thread that I would post them to show what they look like, but I can't seem to figure out how to get them from my other computer to this one. (It won't accept floppy disks, cds, or that zip drive). Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know that if I can get them, I would LOVE to show them to you. I promsie you, they look a lot like the family. I somehow managed to get the eyes perfect!!! :D Well, in my opinion, hehehehe. :)

Great job!

Having Fun! / Re: A Project Regarding the Romanovs (Please Help! :))

Please, could someone help in any way? There's so many people on the forum and no one can help?  :(
If I've posted this thread in the wrong section of the forum, please let me know. Or if I'm not supposed to do this on the forum at all, it would also be good to know! :) I thought it was all right simply because I've seen others posting poems and stories, so I thought asking for help for a project could not be too far off the mark. Well, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it. :)

Having Fun! / A Project Regarding the Romanovs (Please Help! :))
« on: August 27, 2007, 07:10:00 PM »
Hello there!

I thought I'd send out a request here for some assistance because it seemed the only appropriate board for the request! I'm a senior in my high school and to graduate, I must write a ten page paper and complete a large project that shows some type of learning experience. I would LOVE to do something regarding the Romanovs, but I am having a hard time finding a good topic to research. Some kind of mental block on my creative mind!  :( However, with the discovery of the two bodies, my passion for the family has been rekindled yet again, and I want to share this with my school community. I think involving the Romanovs would make for an excellent graduation assignment.  :)

I guess I would just like to know if anyone has any ideas on what type of topic I could research? I was thinking perhaps I could look at types of leaders and their influences in their countries, but it doesn't seem to present some type of learning stretch and hands-on experience. PLUS it is not related solely to the Romanovs. Any help would be so appreciated!  :) I know this sounds like a very random plea, but I am desperate to graduate and spread the word about the Romanovs' amazing story! Thank you in advance for any assistance!  :D Of course, in my project, any help I receive will be credited, as there will be a committee judging me!

So, I think I already made some comparisons, but I have a lot of fun finding more. Actually, one of the following is the same comparison I made before. I just thought I'd make it again. Okay, I don't actually have pictures of Alexei, Tatiana, and Alexandra to compare them to, but I do have the celebs pictures.

I thought this actor (Seth Adkins) looked A LOT like Alexei. First time I saw him in this movie, I was shocked:

And then this actress (Camilla Rutherford), I still swear looks LOTS like Tatiana:

And this isn't her best picture, but I think Caroline Goodall looks A LOT like Alexandra. If you want to see what I mean, I would say watch the movie "Hook" or "Schindler's List". (She plays Schindler's wife). Then you will see what I mean! :)

Let me know what you all think! :D

It already looks (from the articles that you have all so kindly linked to here) that the "representatives of the Romanov family" are already putting distance between themselves and the possibility that these remains belong to Alexei and his sister.

I wonder why they would be so reluctant to get even a little excited?

Hmmm, I thought that was a little strange too. Maybe they don't want to believe it after all these years. Plus, it could cause a lot of controversy with the government, couldn't it?

I don't mean to change the topic, but didn't the article mention the bodies being found with bits of nails and things? The bullets, obviously, are understandable. But the little bobs and things...Don't a lot of history books say Alexei used to carry things like that around? This might sound completely pointless, but it was just a suggestion to throw out there. :)

Yes, it will be heart-breaking if it's not true, and it will be a huge embarrassment for whoever has to make the announcement, but if you think about it, while there were a lot of murders during the time of the Revolution, especially with the royalty, does it really seem likely that the bodies of a teenage boy and girl could belong to anyone but the Romanovs? Especially if Yurovsky's note points to it! I'm sorry I don't sound like I'm making sense--I've actually gotten very little sleep because I've been so contemplative about this matter!

Yes, I really hope it is them. It's true, we will have to wait and see for sure, but it would still be so wonderful that finally, after nearly a century, the entire family is together again. Does anyone know if they will air news about this on television? Thank you. :)

Oh my gosh!!! Wow!!! I don't know how to upload my sims because they're on another computer, but I did the same thing! I touched them up A LOT though from the versions on the Sims 2 site. It took me a few days to get them right, but I wish you could see them, awwww!!! I tell you, the eyes, the faces....I made them amazing! Hahahahah, promise! I'm all caught up in it now.

Does anyone know how I can show you? Oh wait...I may just have an idea! I'll post them in a bit, if that's okay? Whew, all these thoughts coming at once. Talk to you later, guys!  :)

At least we all have a healthy obsession. God bless!

Caleb, you're right! They did. They dug George up to take samples, so I don't see how it's likely that that was not Nicholas' skull.
Although, I never was a scientist. I could be wrong, of course.

Having Fun! / Re: Do any of the Romanovs look like someone you k

That's absolutely amazing! This is beginning to become a very intimate and philosophical chat. I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
The question is, why do we perceive things the way we do? What makes the connections? I've also wondered about the phrase "everyone has a twin." I literally have an identical twin, so that phrase could apply to me, but when we see others that look like the Romanovs, for example, why is that so? If everyone is unique, why do they appear the same? Sure personality wise we can tell there's a distinct difference, especially considering the portrayals given of the Romanovs in history books...It really is astounding.

You're right! The SF company does have it!  ;D To tell you the truth, it's worth the money. I actually bought one after Christmas, so I got mine for only $14.00! That's probably the best time to buy it, just so you know. The regular price was around $35-40 give or take.
I hope you do get it. The minute I heard the Once Upon a December theme, I knew I had to have it.
PS, make sure you ask for the box that plays Once Upon a December. They have the same thing in two kinds, one playing that song, the other playing the Sleeping Beauty waltz.

Hope I've been of help.  :)

Don't worry! I know that!  :D And yes, m' dear, it is a book. A very good one that I'm sure every Romanov fan recommends. I won't say anymore...I don't want to spoil it for you.
