I'ven noticed a couple of Josh Groban's songs come up. You know what's funny? He has about 3 songs and two of them have been named here! Unless someone feels "Oh Holy Night" relates to anyone else in the family, that might be it! lol

Ritka

I named 3 songs by Josh Groban: Let Me Fall, You're Still You, and Remember Me. Remember Me is not on either of his solo albums, it is on the soundtrack for Troy.

Whole Family:

The Prayer by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion

The Italian words, when they are translated, are even sadder than the English ones.

Nicholas & Alexandra:

Come What May (not sure if anyone listed that yet, I've listed it several times on these kinds of threads)

Everything I Do (I Do It For You)

If I Never Knew You

Lift The Wings

Fields of Gold (I know it's very difficult to think of anyone other than Michelle Kwan for this song, but the lyrics speak more about them than Michelle)

Rasputin

Diary Of A Madman by Ozzy Osbourne

Aleksey (once again, I've listed these in other threads):

Remember Me by Josh Groban

Let Me Fall by Josh Groban

Bring Him Home from Les Miserables

Last but not least, NATURE BOY. I played the beautiful Nat King Cole version in a video montage I made, and the woman I sent it to asked if the song was written specifically for Aleksei.

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return."

Nicholas

Nessun Dorma from Turandot. It reminds me of what he might have felt before Alix accepted his proposal :);) Am I right?

If it were meant to be taken seriously I woud be insulted to. But it's not, so I'm not. I guess I have a better sense of humor.

Has anyone watched the cartoon on PS1.  It is even worse the drawings are gay. The story is even crap.  Rasputin is the course for everything.  At least they pronounce Anastasia's name right and not the American way.

I have not seen it but the last thing is one thing in its favor LOL!

Re: "the drawings are gay" comment: You're a teenager aren't you? I wouldn't expect an adult to say something like that.

"Then one night some men of higher standing set a trap, they're not to blame, come to visit us, they kept demanding, and he really came."

That's kind of correct, wouldn't you say? LOL kidding. It's hard to write songs about history.

"John Kennedy had Camelot, then Lyndon Johnson took his spot
Richard Nixon, he gets caught and Gerald Ford fell down a lot.
Jimmy Carter liked camping trips and Ronald Raegan's speeches scripts all came from famous movie clips and President Bush said 'Read my lips!'"

(Animaniacs, US Presidents LOL)

It's not a song, but it is something that reminds me of the family, as morbid as it sounds:

In death, there are no accidents, no coincidences, no mishaps, and no escapes. What you have to realize is that we're all just a mouse that a cat has by the tail. Every single move we make, from the mundane to the monumental... it's all part of Death's sadistic design leading to the grave.

My friend Carolyn is Anastasia, and my friend Marsha and I are both Olga!

Many thanks to the poster of this quiz, you have gotten my friend Marsha interested!

Marsha: that was fun, because I didn't know enough about them to sway the decision

I'm getting her Nicholas & Alexandra (book) for Christmas! She's looking forward to it!

Olga_Anne, that scene was not a flashback, it was a dream sequence. There is a difference. Dreams never happened, whereas flashbacks suggest that they did.

Update:

On www.filmtracks.com, 4029 votes give Anastasia's soundtrack 5 stars, 1297 give it 4, 926 give it 3, 538 give it 2, and 382 give it 1.

Also, in filmtracks 50 most popular reviews, Anastasia is #31, and the previous year it was #25.

http://filmtracks.com/titles/anastasia.html

The above link takes you to filmtracks' review of the soundtrack.

http://www.filmtracks.com/cool.shtml

That link will show you filmtracks 50 most popular reviews, as well as the top scores of the year according to fans. Gabriel Yared's rejected score for Troy is Best Album of the Year, John Williams is as usual Composer of the Year, and Best Score as Heard in a 2004 film went to The Passion by John Debney.

For the record I agree with these choices! Though I didn't know you could vote for rejected scores, so my vote went to The Village for Album of the Year.

My niece's favorite Disney movie is Pocahontas. *grin* I remember when it first came out, I got her a Pocahontas costume, and it wasn't even a special occasion and she put it on right away. She still sings "Colors of the Wind" in the shower. Beautiful song, and that actually WON an Oscar.

Wow, first grade! You must be pretty young then! Twelve, thirtheen?

More on-topic info about the Oscars concerning Nicholas and Alexandra, considering it is the score that this topic is about:

Best Music, Original Dramatic Score

 Winner:
Summer of '42 (1971) - Michel Legrand

 Other Nominees:

Mary, Queen of Scots (1971) - John Barry (I)
Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) - Richard Rodney Bennett
Shaft (1971) - Isaac Hayes
Straw Dogs (1971) - Jerry Fielding

Lovely music, Summer of '42! You hear the theme everywhere. :) Moreso I think Shaft!
