I'll attempt to post the heads of Schaumburg-Lippe below

The Hohenzollern / Lippe Family

The Lippe family and the various branches are not well illustrated, at least not on the net. The Schaumburg-Lippe and Lippe-Biesterfeld branchesare better known and seem to have more published portraits. I cannot find any portraits of Leopold I Fürst zur Lippe-Detmold (1767-1802) and the Counts of Lippe-Weissenfeld are only represented by Egmont (b 1918). Does anyone know if there is any further info out there or whether portraits hang in any of the proprties?

Thankyou , Rani. Your efforts are appreciated.

Sorry! That's all I have. It's a bit blurred.

I'll try these images again

Rhe internet is a wonderful source of material but at times it can be infuriatingly confusing. I have three images below which have different identifications. Can anyone help me to ascribe the proper name to the appropriate picture. Of course it may not be either of the two suggested identities.

Charles Comte de Vendôme (1489-1537)
Charles III D of Montpensier (1489-1527)

Louis I Prince de la Roche sur Yon (d 1520)
Louis  de Montpensier (1483-1501

Jean II Duc de Bourbon (1426-88)
Jean II Comte de Vendôme (1425-77)

Thanks for the information! I'm sure the castle featured in a dance sequence for the "New Years Day Concert" from Vienna a couple of years ago. It's amazing how obscure close relatives of prominent royals become.

Does anyone have any information or pictures of Queen Mary's two paternal aunts, Claudine Pss of Teck (1836-94) and Amelie (1838-93)? The latter married Paul Graf von Hügel and all three are buried near Graz in Austria. They must have visited their family in England and may appear in group photos. I have drawn a blank!

Last year a topic on Sophe d'Alençon featured a couple of pictures of Marguerite of Orléans (1846-93). They are no longer there. Does anyone have a copy of them? She is so difficult to find!

The Hohenzollern / Alexander Prince of Prussia (1820-96)

Can anybody give me any info on Alexander Prince of Prussia (1820-96)? I believe he was an unmarried general and a great-grandson of King Friedrich Wilhelm II.

Could you give me the title and author of the book please?

I can only find a picture of Friedrich Josias as a boy. Does anyone have a picture of him as an adult?

Thankyou for that ! It makes things much clearer. The site doesn't have good details and years are much more helpful in placing someone on their family tree. Unfortunately this means I still haven't tracked down my image.

I'm afraid that's the wrong one. The one I want is in the 19th century, the one you refer to is 18th century.

Can anyone give me any information on this member of the Hessen-Kassel family who was listed as head of family 1884-1888? I know nothing of him and I have never seen any image of him.
