Oww Type o negative- Dead again,
a strange band.

Well, it is very common for metal, hardcore or whatever bands to use the photos of Rasputin. You know the myth of him being a vampire/ undead and all. I didnt get the reason of why they used the girls' pics but as I mentoned Rasputin's photos been used in loads of album and book covers of these sort of people.

Band sucks btw, I wouldnt recommend you to go get their album haha  :D

Nicholas II / Re: Personal Attributes of Nicholas II

Oh, being short is not a bad thing, its just the topic question is ''how tall was he'' and he was a short person, especially compares to other members of his family, even to his wifey.

Btw I think Napoleon was very short and wearing heels too  ;) I dont think Nikolai was wearing high heels though..

Cheers  :D

Nicholas II / Re: TSAR VS CZAR
« on: March 17, 2007, 12:46:17 PM »
I dont think Nikolay II ever used the title ''emperor'' he always did go by Tsar.

You saying; Tsar is a  English translation of the Russian word , I always pronounced it as ''Zar'' as English is not being my native lingo.
It is quite different in Russian though, its true that the first letter is ''Ts'' ; however pronounciation of the letter is not ''Z'' its  more like''che''. I dont know if I could explain it, the whole word  sounds more like ''Char'' ...

I like names Nikolay and Sergey. I always fancied saying ''Kolya''.
Also Vladimir, which means prince.

As for girl names; Olga sounds beautiful in my opinion.

Cheers  :D

haha I agree with clockworkgirl21 on all 3, her comments were hillarious  :)  However I think Alexandra is the weirdest, I couldnt warm up to her.. She is really like a weird grandma who freaks you out, it's like she had no touch with reallity...

I found Nikolai II heartbreakingly handsome  :-[

Also how about heinrich of Prussia, have you ever seen his pic, I think he's quite beautiful =) He was married to Irene of Hesse and by the Rhine. Not quite Russian Court but still worthy to see I guess;

Oh, and about Alexey; he was the cutest child I think...

Can't say I dislike any of them particularly but don't seem to warm up to Empress Alexandra as well as the others.

I totally agree with you, Alexandra is sort of weird maybe? or maybe it's because she was suffering from  some psychologiical illness..

Mine is Nikolay I , I don't know if anyone else has nominated him, if so I second their opinion .

Rulers Prior to Nicholas II / Re: Emperor Nicholas I and poet Pushkin
« on: March 17, 2007, 09:48:04 AM »
I read that Nikolay I has sent his ''people'' to stop the duel between Pushkin and D'Anth├ęs however he delibaretely had sent them to the wrong adress.
There are some really twisted stories about Nikolay I, I dont know if I should write here but as far as I know Pushkin's wife didnt have an affair with him , didnt even flirt with him. However in the first ball she's ever been in Tsar's palace, Tsar requested to meet her but their meeting has interrupted by one of his men.

Pushkin was too Jealous of his wife eventhough he wasnt faithfull to her; and he was very afraid of being a ''Tsar murderer'' he says in his journal. When he catches Tsar's eyes staring at his wife, he was staring at Tsarina lustfully in order to make him understand what he's doing and he strictly has forbid his wife to go to the palace, they even did stop going to T.S. that often according to what I read.

Did he have a connection to Tsarskoe Selo/Pushkin?

Pushkin graduated from '' Lyceum '' in Tsarskoe Selo like most aristocrat children. Also he was a friend of tsar Nikolai I and been to the summer palace loads of times. Do you know that Pushkin has exposed her behind to the Tsarina in Tsarskoe Selo because of some bet =) He got scolded by Tsarina badly =)
