According to the 1914 edition of Baedeker's Russia , Abbas-Tuman had two Grand-ducal villas which burned down in 1913.  There also was a chapel standing where George Alexandrovich died in 1899 but I doubt that  it is still there either.

In Kuchumovs' book Pavlovsk Palace and Park on page 83 a caption of a photo of the chandelier says that it came from the St. Michael Castle.

The large palace that was destroyed so that the new palace of Nicholas and Alex could be built was not the palace where Alexander lll died.  Nicholas' parents prefered to use the Maley Palace which was located nearby.  There was a cross placed on the floor of the corner room where Alexander died.  The palace was destroyed in wwll.

The restoration of the Yussupov dacha began in the summer of 2003.  As of August 2003 the roofing was completed and  internal work was to begin in the autumn.  The work is planned to be finished on May 2005.  This info came from the Tsarskoe Selo newspaper articles for August 8, 2003 and March 4, 2004.  These can be found by going to
http://www.pushkin-town.net/  and clicking on Tsarskoselskaya Gazeta.  This gives you a list by date  of all the articles from the Tsarskoe Selo newspaper.  Use AltaVista's Babel Fish to translate.

 I have a book that I recently bought that appears to be a reprint of a tour guide to Peterhof from 1902.It has 1 photo of the outside and 5 of the inside of the English Palace.  It is in  Russian but has lots of rare photos of the  Peterhof Palace and Park plus a photo of the Babygone palace and His Own Imperial Daccha.  I bought it from Eastview books.  http://www.eastview.com  Here's the info.  product # A2029603 , Title Imperatorskii Petergof :Tri stoletiia istorii , author Vernova, N.V. , $ 27.45.

The Nicholas Palace was destroyed in the late 20's early 30's.  Also destroyed was the Chudov Monastery, the church of St. Catherine,the Monastery of the Ascension,the church of the Metropolitan Alexis and the Cathedral of the Annunciation.  On the site of these was built  The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet which I believe is where the president's office is now located.  An interesting sidebar to the above is that when the building and surrounding areas were being refurbished in the 90's Grand Duke Serge's grave was uncovered.  He had been placed in the crypt of the Church of the Metropolitan Alexis and when the church was destroyed he remained under a parking lot.  The coffin was removed and buried in one of monasteries around Moscow I forget which one.  If you want to see what the palace looked like on the inside look in  the book The Moscow Kremlin in watercolour edited by Emmanuel Ducamp.

The Italian Pavilion  was actually the Lower Palace  or Dacha.   It was built on orders of Alexander III  for Nicholas in1883-85 by architect Tomishko in the Italian Renaissance style.  Look in Peter Kurth"s book Tsar page 28 and the book Nicholas II by Abris Publishers page 38.

I think that the site of the Spala  hunting lodge is now a sports' camp.  There is a site that seems to talk about it but it is in Polish.  www.spala.pl  Also I read somewhere that at the outbreak of WW1 all important items were removed ahead of the German armies.

After reading Nick Nicholson's article on the Imperial Eggs I wanted to make a comment .  In his paragraph on the last egg produced he stated that it was delivered to Grand Duke Vladimir at his palace .  This was in October of 1917 ignoring the fact that the Grand Duke died in 1909.

Does anyone know what happened to the Reinella pavilion in the lower Alexandria park?  It was built by Stackenschnieder in 1846.  It was not far from the optical telegraph which was replaced by the Lower Palace.
